Suggesting that he may appeal the ruling, Trump said, "and then we'll take it higher!"

(I'm so sorry.)

Why isn't the music industry bankrupting his campaign like he was some grandma whose grandkids downloaded a song from Napster while they were visiting?

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 37 points 4 days ago (1 children)

FS already responded but I’d like to add: a lot of artists condemn his campaign's use of music but sometimes it's not their choice. The rights can be held by a publisher/record label etc.

Still, the slow speed of courts is a bigger factor.

The rights can be held by a publisher/record label etc.

In fact, the vast majority of popular music is owned by 3 companies

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 42 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Probably because these suits take forever. That was from something he did in 2020!

If he lives to be 150, he might actually start to see some real consequences finally catch up.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 24 points 4 days ago

If we're lucky, he loses the presidency and then the consequences start catching up to him fast. He's running to get himself out of legal trouble.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (3 children)

he's probably already starting to see consequences of his shitty eating habits and lack of any real excercise.

Fun fact time! Trump believes that the human body is like a battery with "finite energy", but if you exercise you risk using all that energy up and dying. =)

Edit - failed by spellcheck

Edit 2 - /s infinite finate

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Thanks! Yes finite.

"Help us, Obi-wan Cholesterol. You're our only hope."

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

I totally want him to kark it on stage from a heart attack while pitching hamberders.

edit: mostly because that's one way I'm pretty sure the secret service can't blame on me. too bad thoughts and prayers don't work...

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'd be happy with just a stroke... seeing one side of his face sag and he just starts repeating the words "eating dogs!!!" over and over...

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

....
.... ....

Didn't that happen the other day?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

It needs to be more severe.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

well. Maybe if we all get together, do a seance or like, prayer circle, or something. the combined energies might be more effective.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Maybe we can do a voodoo ritual. I'm told by certain right-wingers that involves eating dogs. I have two myself...

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

We could sacrifice some chicken fingers!

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The fact that he's still alive at this point is a testament to modern medical science.

[–] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

And the "Turtle"! Sure he reboots constantly, but sure let's keep him in government.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Not to mention Dick Cheney, who has been operating without a heart or a pulse for years ever since he had his 4th or 5th heart replaced by a continuous flow pump.

I'm generally in favor of cardiology and letting people live, but..

That's probably more productive

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

"Productive" is probably not the word I'd use to describe this 0-0 after 64 minutes played snooze fest lol

Edit: and of course the wrong team scored 10 minutes after this comment 🤦

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 20 points 4 days ago

Probably because almost all popular music is owned by 2 or 3 companies and just about everyone in charge of those play golf with Trump or someone who plays with him.

[–] irotsoma@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Many artists don't own their songs and the corporations that do generally like Trump.

[–] PenisDuckCuck9001@lemmynsfw.com 6 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

So will the Republicans start trying to get rid of copyright law and legalize piracy? That would be.. Awkward.

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

This is going to be like that every election cycle for the rest of history

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

Unless Trump wins, in which case there might not BE any more presidential elections, except maybe one rigged one for appearances..

[–] comador@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Creed's band members suddenly twitch...
