Amazing as always. The world is full of beauty.

I'm currently in incredible awe by the absolute decadence and luxury the mexican bourgeoisie lives in. I mean, I know they are opullent, but just watched some videos on TikTok of the kind of places they live in and holy shit! I will never in my life be able to afford even the cheapest one. The comfort and luxury these people live in is something that make even my wildest fantasies come out short. I was thinking that if I ever get to movw out of my mother's house and live in a modest and moderately comfortable place some day that would maybe be too much. I sometimes feel guilty of wanting to live like that in a country with so much inequality, but these parasites are literally galaxies beyond what I could even dream. It is impressive, disgusting, outrageous, depressing. I don't know how I really feel about that. Amusement? Hate? Rage? Hopelesness? Don't know.

Now imagine the amount of labour needed to upkeep those places and guess who does the job... the mexican 'patron' is the worst scum on earth (prob the same as other latin american countries), utterly incompetent, disgusting attitude towards workers (malinchistas) and they are all alcoholics. I come from a landowner class in north mexico, inherited a big chunk of hectares of land so i have experience dealing with other patrones, its like they make them out of moulds.

Completely conformist with our position as raw material producers they have managed to manipulate people through mass media into thinking that it is more profitable to sell raw materials than making commodities with it . Utterly incompetent and lazy drunkards. 😂

Selling your countries resources, exploiting the poorest members of society, and running drug money and guns, will all get you very rich.

Although you are definitely going to hell, and your life will most likely be much much shorter then average the second another capitalist usurpes you or you outlive your usefulness.

return to Malaysia for a 1 month visit after living in the U.S. for the last four years

go back to the places I remember going to

return to a famous seaside which I visited frequently

find out that that seaside had been ruined by a land reclamation project

mfw

[–] Shrike502@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What's a land reclamation project?

[–] aidnic@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Basically it’s a project where land is artificially added to a body of water

I don’t know the specifics of the project which wrecked the seaside I was talking about, but it really sucks.

Last day at my current job. After a three week holiday I will finally start my job at the Union and I'm looking forward to it. But first, Basque Country.

I have been without power in Springfield IL since Thursday afternoon, I am ready to burn down the entire state lol. I imagine publicly owned utilities work a lot better when they're properly funded and staffed 🙃

Just had the monthly get together with my youth group. We've planned so many dope things in the next few months, with one possibly major national campaign. I'm super stoked and things like this truly make me feel a better world is going to come.

[–] Oppo@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I hope you all have a nice week :D

[–] GrainEater@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago

you too Oppo

Can’t believe it’s already July, where the damn hell does this year think it’s going.

Hope we all have a positive, productive and perhaps even enjoyable month.

Our party posted an article/interview with Tings Chak about how China lifted 800 million people out of poverty. I think it's the first interview in Dutch I've read about it and I'm spamming it to everyone I know.

[–] DankZedong@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago

The article is accompanied by a map of Asia with US allies and military bases highlighted, completed with an overview of US military spending, titled 'How the US is besieging China'. I like the kind of out of the blue agressive stance the party is taking right now.

Apologies for being offtopic. I have noticed that the link "z-lib. is" has been declared a scam site on the official zLibrary reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/zlibrary/comments/zx6z62/megathread_how_to_access_zlibrary_on_tor_app/). Although they have a clear internet adress (https://singlelogin.re/), the reqirement of an account, the personal domain management and the occasional instability make them quite unfit for the average lurker looking for a book. Also stated in their thread, I recommend the use of https://annas-archive.org/ as an easy to use substituent for "z-lib. is".

[–] GrainEater@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 1 year ago

there isn't much of a topic here; thanks for letting me know, I've changed it

[–] Shrike502@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

There's a video circulating around the net, featuring a man with both hands cut off. Allegedly it was done by rioters in France and the man was "trying to protect his car". Anyone hear anything about that?

[–] lil_tank@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If it's true French MSM are going to blast it nonstop, for now they don't so probably a fascist hoax

[–] GrainEater@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 year ago

I'm sure plenty of outlets are going to act like it's true either way

[–] DankZedong@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 1 year ago

One of our officials asked for sanctions against Israel stating it was possible real fast when Russia started the war against Ukraine and his mic was turned off 😭😭😭

japanese trying to deflect fukushima dumping

[–] knfrmity@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 year ago

If it's true, they're deflecting and missing the point of the criticism.

I am under the impression that tritium discharge isn't a huge deal. But that's not what the Fukushima water problem is about.

Chinese media have been reporting for months if not years that TEPCO and Japanese authorities don't even know what other radioisotopes are in the Fukushima waste water and at which concentrations. The filters used aren't appropriate and only certain isotopes are even tested for.

I never understood the obsession with fireworks here in the United States. They’re only amusing for a few seconds… the first couple of times that you’ve seen them… and after that they’re just annoying. People light fireworks starting a week or two before the fourth of July, and sometimes the day afterwards, and it only pauses during nighttime.

The stink and all of the litter that they cause is almost nauseating. I’m lucky that I don’t suffer from battle fatigue, because then these nuisances would be truly insufferable.

[–] amemorablename@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I feel you. I do like the pretty colors of them when I can actually see them and some shows are pretty neat in how they put the colors together, but I only find the noise tolerable in that context (which is usually at more of a distance) and most fireworks set off casually or in a context where I can't even see them just end up feeling like I'm surrounded by loud noises I don't want to hear. People also set them off at any and every hour in my experience, and any and every day that is near the 4th and sometimes other holidays too. 😐 It would prob be more tolerable if there was like an hour during which everybody did it and then it's done.

Just saw a video titled Settler Colonialism in Vietnam.

What a ridiculous assertion, and the video is what you'd expect.

Youtube testing my patience rn.
