The movie is Hell and Back, and it is probably one of the most underrated movies ever.

The clip is just kind of filler tho, but the main story is equally as funny.

I can't hear "welcome to hell" without immediately thinking of combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

Ever since The Incident, I and the bystanders also associate Taco Bell and Hell closely..

Thanks for the recommendation. Torrenting meow.

The only good twin restaurant is a KFC Taco Bell anything else is straight from the devil himself.

Until the end of time? So there's no advancement opportunities? And then there's the location. You try getting Amazon to deliver anything to Hell.

[–] rockerface@lemm.ee 10 points 4 months ago

wdym deliver, I thought it's right next to their HQ

Interesting concept: no heaven or hell. The afterlife is living your life all over again, but from the "perspective" of everyone you ever interacted with. Beat up some guy on the streets when you were 23? Guess who will be waiting for you on that faithful day, when you're 23. On the other hand, if you were beaten up when you were 21, your revenge will come. 21 years after your death, perhaps, but it will come. Same for good experiences. That good thing you did? Shall be done unto you in the afterlife

Similar concept which I take no credit for, but enjoyed very much: All humans are but one person living over and over, but with no memory of their past lives. Everything you've ever done, you did to yourself. You were Mother Teresa, you were Gandhi, you were Pol Pot. Every injustice perpetrated upon you was committed by yourself, and so was every kindness. One day the universe will end and you'll re-integrate all your memories.

I personally believe that if there is an afterlife, you're the one responsible for how happy or punished you are. Everyone goes to the same place, but they experience different levels of comfort based on their own assessment of their life. This happens at a deep enough level that you can't lie to yourself about it.

Basically What Dreams May Come style.

Other than the psychopath angle, there's also those who are mentally ill and/or delusional and believe they're terrible people when they're not far off average, maybe even better.

Likewise, perfectionists, but maybe I'm repeating myself.

Got to hope that you're not right for their sake.

Personally, I'm hoping for oblivion. Like it was for the billions of years before I was conceived, I assume, not that it's possible to remember that.

So buffalo buffalo psychopaths get off totally free?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Well if you think spending eternity alone isn't punishment. Either that or the universe.just deletes you if your unredeemable

[–] unphazed@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago (2 children)

What if there is only Hell, and the good people live out eternity getting revenge on the people that hurt them in life?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 17 points 4 months ago (2 children)

The good people or the pious people? Because those two Venn circles barely overlap at all..

[–] blanketswithsmallpox@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Why would it matter at that point? Nothing matters. Poke away. It's hellven.

[–] helpImTrappedOnline@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Good people is the only requirement...if they are in the part of your cricle that overlaps, good for them. If not....

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 14 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The good people would probably either not want to waste their time hurting people or they would get tired of it very quickly(we ain’t all perfect). Like if Trump died I’d be elated but it’s because he would no longer be poisoning the world with his presence and not because I personally want to beat his face in for eternity.

To be honest I think the hell I would want for these people would be a forced injection of critical thinking skills and empathy, with mandatory classes on all of the harm they did, so they could ultimately be their own punishment. At that point the most participation I would want would be my turn explaining how they people hurt me and the people I care about.

The TV series Lucifer was basically like this. Sure, you go to hell, but your personal hell is reliving a moment that you could have grown as a person, and you don't get out until you make the decision to grow.

!Lucifer finally figured out that he's in charge of hell, because he is the compassionate angel that can help get everyone out of hell.!<

Any person would require the bad person to change, recognize that the change is for the better, as a new person perform good acts to overcome the harm that had happened before.

Good vs Bad is all about action and consequence.
