It looks good but it's essentially a French car, not Japanese unfortunately.
So it's not made of rust? That's a win!
Nowadays I wouldn't worry too much about that. French reliability is still hit or miss.
Nissan is partnered with Renault, which is known for its incredibly reliable compact cars. Even their "cheaper" brand, Dacia, has gone on to grpw leaps and bounds in terms of quality. The first ones were simply rebadged Renault models with higher road to chassis clearance nowadays the models have a unique presence.
Tbf, I would consider a Dacia Duster if I needed a cheap 4wd.
I've seen a few that had undergone some mild off road modifications and it seems the little machines resemble the old Suzuki Samurai.
That looks like a freaking rally car! 17 year old me would have loved it!
Nissan's marketshare in Europe is around 2%. They aren't exactly sacrificing a huge percent of sales by doing this even if a huge percent of people are simply not ready yet.
But it says something to everyone else.
Hope their EV's turn out better than the JATCO debacle.
I mean they were the top selling ev for a long time took Tesla overtook them. They sat on their yannys too long.
Now they just need to get some compelling EVs made.
Wow that car looks petty neat. I always thought the Leaf was a pretty decent EV (and one of the first more well known ones) and it felt like they never really innovated on it too much. Perhaps this is finally the point where they start doing that again.
Leaf needed water-cooling / active heating on the battery. The batteries wear quickly with simple air cooling.
What I don't get in this picture is the Ioniq Electric. Those boys also only have fan cooling and resistance heating, but those batteries are a beast.
It turns out you don't need a lot of cooling, but you need some.
So ~~Lead~~ Leaf should only be sold in Seattle, and other rainforests, got it.

We have a family friend with a Leaf. They like it a lot.
We have a 2015, it's a great car but very short range. Has more space than our bolt, it's like the perfect urban small family car.
Wish they just made the Idx but as an ev.

Might as well. Then their customers won't have to worry about junk CVTs.
