Oh he's screwed. She's going to sentence him to be ~~hung~~ hanged, drawn, and quartered for trying to kill her lord and savior.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 109 points 4 days ago (5 children)

Alternatively... she's so fucking incompetent that he gets off without a sentence because she fucks up procedure that thoroughly.

[–] DudeImMacGyver@sh.itjust.works 15 points 4 days ago

Guess time will tell.

[–] cogman@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Assuming he has a competent lawyer. Very possible she sucks and so does his lawyer.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

This is my bet.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

I reckon this is what will happen, but it'll be intentionally done

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 5 points 4 days ago

Probably a more likely scenario.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago (5 children)

Hanged. Hung is the past tense for an object being suspended. Hanged is the past tense for when you refer to someone being killed by hanging.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 21 points 4 days ago

People have always said I'm well hanged.

[–] Ebby@lemmy.ssba.com 6 points 4 days ago

Maybe they did mean hung, drawn and quartered.

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Hung

In that case, I'd rather be hanged.

[–] crozilla@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

That description might actually stick in my brain.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Thank you for doing what I had to work hard to not do.

[–] charade_you_are@sh.itjust.works 33 points 3 days ago (2 children)

It's so demoralizing that this stupid, corrupt piece of shit is a judge at any level.

[–] Samvega@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 days ago

The human world hasn't been purposefully designed to delight either you or me. It's designed to give someone who wants to oppress other people with power more power to oppress other people.

Want to know the best part?

Federal judges aren't required to be attorneys, so even if she's disbarred she gets to keep her appointment as long as the Republicans refuse to impeach and convict her.

Thank you for putting a name to a face. I’ve seen these gifs forever and never knew who they were.

I highly recommend watching Schitt's Creek. The first couple of episodes are a bit rough, but it quickly settles in to one of the best shows I've ever watched.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Scott's Creek

So close. :)

[–] cowfodder@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Yeah, I fixed it. Stupid autocorrect!

[–] themadcodger@kbin.earth 3 points 3 days ago

It really is. I love the character growth and Moira's vocabulary.

[–] Aralakh@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago

You're welcome! Do definitely check out Schitt's Creek, it's a brilliantly funny series.

[–] Backlog3231@reddthat.com 32 points 4 days ago

Trial will be over by the end of the week and he'll be executed by the end of the month. Meanwhile cannon will find a clerical error in Donnie's case and reschedule a review for "some time next year if I feel like it".

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 53 points 4 days ago

His public defender

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 44 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Can you preside over a case when the target of the crime is a defendant in your court on another case?

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 27 points 3 days ago

And when that person appointed her in the first place?

Ethically and impartially, no. But it's going to happen anyway.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago

It's Florida and a Trump-appointed judge, so yes.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 38 points 4 days ago

Yeah, assigned "randomly"

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 25 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I'm sure she'll be just as vigorous in granting him every conceivable doubt as she is with Trump.

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

She should throw out the case because it has a prosecutor!

[–] Drunemeton@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Let’s see what his attorney does with her past decision record. Should be very easy to find all sorts of ways to delay or cancel the trial.

[–] eran_morad@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago

She’s going to execute him herself.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

The fix is in.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 2 points 4 days ago

Lol. This is going to be interesting!
