I have NSFW stuff blocked on lemmy. I hardly ever see anything tagged NSFW anymore.

I'm surprised to see this was an issue. I've never had a battery drain issue with Firefox on my android phones.

Looks cool, when is it gonna be playable?

You could say that about almost any product. Heck, you could say that about jobs as well. Don't want to work in the coal Mines in the 1800s and get paid in company credits, don't work at the coal mine.

It doesn't work so well when everybody is doing the same thing and forcing it on people. Regulation exists for a reason.

I think we should all be pushing for that.

I never played 1 or 2, and from the gameplay I have seen they're very different games. And since they're much older, I don't have the nostalgia factor making me want to go back to them, so the graphics and game play are a bit of a turn off for me.

Fallout 3 and 4 ended up being really great games after Bethesda got ahold of the IP. Can't say the next one will be that way considering Microsoft got their hands on the studio reins.

for stuff in instruction: fek fek fek

Just add some weird database calls into your responses, should always do the trick.

but I’m much more confident my phone manufacturer is not selling/giving my data to police or insurance companies

Without a doubt they are absolutely doing this.

When i was young, I never thought in a million years we'd choose profits over a habitable planet. I thought surely people would realize that they'll suffer to.

This is my entry to The Dusty Old Game Jam. It's the first real boss fight I've ever made, and I think it's coming along nicely.

This is just the first encounter with the boss. Subsequent encounters start the fight immediately. Also got a cool jump attack, and several variety of regular attacks working since I recorded this the other day.

P.s. sorry if the quality is bad. I used OBS to record this, welcome to any suggestions of something else that will get me higher quality video.

I'm doing this in Unreal Engine 5, but how this is done should be relevant for any engine, minus the details of spawning and despawning.

Anybody know how large games handle spawning and despawning enemies? One idea I had was to have a really large sphere around the player that spawns enemies when the player overlaps spawn points. But that could get tricky to implement. Another idea I had was to spawn enemies as the player enters different areas, and just put them to sleep/deactivate them until the overlap a large player sphere.

Would love to know other people's thoughts on this. I'm looking for something that has good performance and scalability. I'm going to start testing ideas soon. But would be great if someone already knew of a solution that works.

Edit: Why downvote? I'm asking for discussion on algorithms. Is that not the point of this community...

We are doing an N64 style graphics jam starting next week. There are no prizes other than bragging rights, but we have fun with it anyway! Come join us!

This is a really cheap way to make interactive grass. It's done in UE5, but the algorithm is applicable to any engine.

I found this really cool Hatch shader that gives that hand drawn feel. It's a post process shader, and the tutorial is long, but it's well worth it for the end effect of the shader.

I'm hosting a bad art game jam starting on the 7th of July. Come hang out, and make games that are so bad they are good.

I didn't see IndieDev, which is a community I frequented a lot on reddit. Between this one and IndieDev, that's where I spent most of my time. I'm honestly not even sure what the distinction between the two is anymore.
