Fuck. Better get my hands on a copy before it's too late.

https://yuzu-emu.org/

Downloads and source still available. No excuses.

With a plan like this:

and even seize and destroy its hard drives to help wipe out the emulator

I assumed it was closed source. How stupid are Nintendo lawyers?

Coward ass Nintendo going after smart people putting in good work instead of actually giving people a reason to buy their shit.

More and more these architectures are thinly veiled PCs anyway. Sony saw the writing on the wall and started porting to PC.

Adapt or fuck off, Nintendo

We've already seen how this plays out in court with Sony vs BLEEM. I really hope Nintendo gets the books thrown at them, cuz I am getting really sick and tired of their "All illegal emulators stifles innovation" attitude. Especially with the fact that their fragile games are starting to break down and needs to be backed up for users to continue using their games.

They are pricey but cart readers like the GBxCart, Open Source Cartridge Reader, or simply modifying or running an R4 your Nintendo DS/DSi/3DS can help you backup your physical games. Which might I add is legal under archival laws in the USA (117) and backup laws in Canada (29.24).

I have a switch and I will try this. Nintendo games are very expensive and we don't even have a demo to see if we like it before

An actual switch is the best piracy console out there. It's blown wide open. Plays all switch games.

Yup homebrewing my gen 1 Switch was the best thing ever, until I got my steam deck - now I never touch the thing

Games tend to run better on Yuzu as well, they can definitely go to high res or frame rates if you have a decent computer. Some games may not run great right away, but give it a few weeks after release for updates and it absolutely provides a better experience than Nintendo's system.

Not just on PC either, their android port runs amazing on flagships from the past few years (anything with a snapdragon 855 or newer basically)
