He did all that to support his gay son, that is a real ally.

His use of the word “just” indicates no other reasons made him leave. This was the only reason he left. Talk about priorities!

Damn right you did. Your son could never have done that in Iran.

[–] IWantToFuckSpez@kbin.social 23 points 7 months ago

In Iran they would force his son to get gender reassignment surgery.

I'd like to imagine he can and there's a bunch of maid outfits gunners on the battlefield.

Which battlefield? Iran isn’t at war. It’s a beautiful country with a beautiful culture and some conservative assholes at the top. A lot of Iranians are actually very progressive and there is a vibrant underground scene.

Without even the cosplay, his son would have already been disappeared by the zealot puritanical police apparatus. Tortured to death "in the glorious name of Allah" or "for subverting the morals" or whatever excuse sadists use to practice the sadism they enjoy to practice so much.

Keep in mind that xenophobia doesn't help building a better world. Far right groups have fascism in common, the excuses for that rarely matter. Christianity is not worse because it is being coopted by conservatives in the US.
