Why not both at the same time?

People don't like that and choose to look away. Blind ignorance is how we got to where we are today. The damages are irreversible in our current lifetime now.

The only viable solution these days are systemic ones where the government is actually doing its job and governing the damages done by larger companies.

But we're so fucked that if that were to be a universal law applied by every government by every country, then it will it take 100 or so years to get back to square one :)

Windows 7 was my favorite, but people forget Windows 7 wasn't good on launch either. Aero was just too intensive for the hardware it released on and 7 was a band aid for Vista.

Windows 7 is awesome on modern hardware, but it's too late now.

I mean if you get urban and rural, what's there not to get about the suburbs? It's the best and worst of both. More open lands and less congestion but also rush hour sucks and people suck at driving. It's far to go get something, but car rides with buddies is its own fun.

How about the both of them being friends and going on journeys together where they clash worldviews and compromise together

The bubble will burst eventually, it's just a matter of when. Unfortunately it's not next week.

That doesn't mean that implementing fail safes would still be nice. I think Google has it so that your information can be dumped into another family's email if the account hasn't been active in 500 days or something along those lines.

Why not just have a select Steam inheritor account if inactive for more than XXXX amount of days. It could also crack down on dead steam accounts.

Then we teach them?? They're not gonna know if we don't be good role models for them, but doesn't mean they can't learn.

MacOS is really the only one I never understood unless you're really tied to the Apple ecosystem.

I'd argue the "just use Linux" meme is more relevant for Mac users than Windows.

I want to love Linux as well, but it does require some troubleshooting skills I'm too lazy for these days Additionally, some of my games require anti-cheats that just don't work on Linux.

Yea but you'll always need them. I think having too many sucks to keep track of, but other than that I don't care for them

Ignoring the security implications, I miss kb large old raw html websites that loaded instantly on DSL internet. Nowadays shit is too fancy because hardware allows that, but I feel we're just constantly running into more bugs first and then worry about them later.

Edit: I've thought more about it, and I think I just missed the simplicity of the internet back then. There's just too much bloat these days with ad trackers and misinformation. I kinda forgot just how bright and eye jarring most old UIs were lol.
