The entirety of Russian and Chinese interference: sit-back-and-enjoy

[–] MeowZedong@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 10 months ago

Lol, thanks. This actually made me feel slightly better about how fucked this situation is.

It's 8:25 AM in Moscow, another beautiful day, blue skies, snow on the ground. Just woke up, got my sip of coffee, in time to be at work at 9AM working my good-paying steady union job at the KGB shitposting and bamboozling boomers on facebook. Probably gonna log off at 1pm and take my kids cross country skiing.

[–] MeowZedong@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 10 months ago

Lazy tankie! Real work begins before 5:00am and ends after 10:00pm. Only losers take breaks or complain.

[–] SpaceDogs@lemmygrad.ml 39 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I know this is about America but they were peddling the same shit here in Canada. People, and I believe officials too, were claiming that there was “Chinese interference” in our elections.

[–] luchuan@lemmygrad.ml 45 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Chinese interference is when you have unaddressed domestic issues you'd rather ignore and the more you have the more interference they are doing.

[–] SpaceDogs@lemmygrad.ml 37 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They tried to say that the Toronto Mayor won because of China 😭 based only on racism

[–] Orcocracy@hexbear.net 8 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Same with the mayor of Vancouver, some city councillors, some MPs, etc. It was a full on racist witch-hunt that only seemed to simmer down once some spies from India shot a guy and broke the narrative.

[–] darkcalling@lemmygrad.ml 38 points 10 months ago

But please ignore the zionist lobby's open interference including candidates openly thanking them for their endorsements and openly pledging as a platform plank their support for the apartheid state.

[–] davel@lemmygrad.ml 31 points 10 months ago

Hamas will also be condemned for the Democrats’ losses.

[–] mayo_cider@hexbear.net 31 points 10 months ago

Here we go again, externalizing the internal contradictions of a dying empire

[–] Ronin_5@lemmygrad.ml 30 points 10 months ago

They never mention Israeli interference

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 28 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I love how utterly myopic libs are here. They're actively destroying trust in the political system in order to win the election. The whole system is fundamentally a social contract that requires majority of the population to believe that elections are fair in order to accept the results. Once you get to the point where people no longer believe that elections are fair then there's no reason to accept the party you don't support holding power. These people are actively helping create the conditions that will ultimately result in the unravelling of the entire political system.

What's great about that is they also have the gall to insult and roll their eyes at Republicans screaming about "stolen elections" which is just the flip side of their "Russian/Chinese disinfo altered the election" coin. And of course if you dig into the Republican claim, part of it is usually predicated on "Dems used massive amount of undocumented immigrants to swing the vote" which is just another kind of racist "foreigners are changing our elections" in the exact same vein where it matters as the Dem's Russophobia and Sinophobia.

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 10 months ago

Exactly, they're two sides of the same coin.

[–] mughaloid@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Well it's America's destiny to crumble like house of cards I believe 🤣

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 10 months ago

it is approaching that stage of the empire

[–] CicadaSpectre@lemmygrad.ml 27 points 10 months ago

When I was a kid, my peers had largely lost faith in our democratic system because it didn't seem like it mattered who we voted for: the conservative elements in society always triumphed, even when they lost. Obama winning didn't change shit, the Forever War continued. No local elections mattered because the state I live in is so thoroughly Republican, it was like pissing in the wind. Yet, we were always told to have faith and vote.

Fast forward to now, and the reason people are losing faith in our democracy is because they think foreigners are manipulating everything to make the other side win. I should have guessed some insane, xenophobic conspiracy theory was the only way for people to question our system.

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 27 points 10 months ago

Russia and China don't need to deepen divisions, Democrats already do that enough by caping for genocide and neocolonialism-- I don't want to count myself among that number; and death to their 'nation' for trying to cudgel me into supporting it.

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 27 points 10 months ago

Interesting that this just seems to be the way of things going forwards. How many elections can they have where both sides are accusing the other of election fraud before the whole system comes crashing down?

[–] LoomingMountain@lemmygrad.ml 27 points 10 months ago

They're already preparing their excuses for a possible Trump win.

[–] PaulSmackage@hexbear.net 26 points 10 months ago

Damn, i guess the US elections are gonna require international monitors for their elections to make sure they're free and fair. Otherwise it's not a democracy and instead an authoritarian ccp colony and anything else is russian dezinformatsiya.

[–] jlyws123@lemmygrad.ml 24 points 10 months ago

Anyone who believes these things is a potential traitor to the United States, because they have no faith in the American political system.😁

[–] taiphlosion@lemmygrad.ml 22 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Of course they never specify how, just something for the people to think about so when their candidate fails they have something other than themselves to blame

[–] Pili@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 10 months ago

They'll say it's because of evil seeseepee tiktok and threaten to ban it again.

[–] MeowZedong@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 10 months ago

Can't question whether your processes actually are democratic when external factors are always interfering with your processes of democracy. They've been gaslit for so long that they've become desensitized to the smell of the ruling class. Where there's gas, there's Amerikkka.

[–] PosadistInevitablity@hexbear.net 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Russia would be fully justified in fucking our elections up.

[–] AlbigensianGhoul@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 10 months ago

Considering the sheer amount of influence the US holds on the global stage, every country would be justified in interfering. It's almost democratic.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 16 points 10 months ago

The average American is dumb enough to believe this. At least online, supposedly intellectual Americans will claim that China and Russia are behind every right-wing conspiracy. It's maddening how stupid they are.

[–] Vampire@hexbear.net 14 points 10 months ago
[–] D61@hexbear.net 13 points 10 months ago

Redditor's are really gonna trying using the whole "Russian invasion of Ukraine" as an election interference operation aren't they?

[–] EuthanatosMurderhobo@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

As we like to joke here in Mordor, I can't wait to vote for Trump on Gosuslugi.

[–] AlbigensianGhoul@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 10 months ago

As an exercise, open this link and search in it the words "by United States". And that's just on NATOpedia.

The US establishment is speeding towards an obvious pit, and has every opportunity to stop, slow down or change course. Instead they are filling their tanks in diesel with every action and hoping the car blows up before they get there.

One of the few things holding the regime together has been the blind faith in their institutions and procedures, and by casting doubt in that, either through denouncing foreign influences, or by accusations of election fraud, they're effectively guaranteeing a constitutional crisis.

They're making Louis XVI look competent.

[–] Mzuark@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 10 months ago

All this while the AIPAC actively admits to affecting elections

[–] ButtigiegMineralMap@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 10 months ago

lol 2016 repeat, both candidates claiming election fraud and rigging before the results come in
