Rules for Posting Guides on Our Community

1. Defining a Guide Guides are comprehensive reference materials, how-tos, or comparison tables. A guide must be well-organized both in content and layout. Information should be easily accessible without unnecessary navigation. Guides can include flowcharts, step-by-step instructions, or visual references that compare different elements side by side.

2. Infographic Guidelines Infographics are permitted if they are educational and informative. They should aim to convey complex information visually and clearly. However, infographics that primarily serve as visual essays without structured guidance will be subject to removal.

3. Grey Area Moderators may use discretion when deciding to remove posts. If in doubt, message us or use downvotes for content you find inappropriate.

4. Source Attribution If you know the original source of a guide, share it in the comments to credit the creators.

5. Diverse Content To keep our community engaging, avoid saturating the feed with similar topics. Excessive posts on a single topic may be moderated to maintain diversity.

6. Verify in Comments Always check the comments for additional insights or corrections. Moderators rely on community expertise for accuracy.

its insane that someone would need this huge ass book of a list to try avoiding ONE SINGLE COMPANY

Have you considered spreading these posts out? One or two a day would do wonders for the community's growth.

I thought I was finally free from Nestle products at home. A few months ago I switched from Tidy Cat litter sand to another, non-Purina/Nestle brand and my cats took the transition well.
Then just a couple of weeks ago I noticed the sneaky bastards also own Merrick cat food. The final can in storage was opened today, I have another brand ready from today onward, let's see how the guys take it.

Pleased to see that I consume none of these products. Some because I knew they were owned by Nestle.

None? Did you read the fine print? There are so many names on there, how would you even check this?

[–] Drusas@kbin.social 5 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

None that area visualized, at least, yeah. But I don't eat a lot of processed foods.

Do they own the CPK restaurants, or just the frozen aisle pizza brand?

Edit — looks like they just make and sell the frozen pizzas. Wikipedia says the restaurant chain is owned by Golden Gate Capital LP.

I'm kinda surprised how few of these are things I buy at all. Even the ones I do are rare picks.

With one exception, and fuck anyone that doesn't like it. Hagen daz is the best ice cream I can get in my area, and I'll fucking kill a pint on my birthday once a year.

The rest, I can't find a single one we'll buy for our home. They're stuff that only get picked up when vending machines are the only available source of something. I used to love me some nesquik though. If they sold the brand (yeah, right lol), I'd maybe grab a container or two a year.

It isn't like I keep a list and avoid all of their stuff, it's just happenstance that the things listed usually suck compared to other options

Kawartha ice cream is way better

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 months ago

I'd try it if anyone local ever carries it :)
