Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

It's not just you. The price of literally everything is skyrocketing.
Well, except sky rockets, which have been cheaper to launch.
Something Something AFTERNOON DELIGHT!
Turns out you can simply keep raising prices and the idiot consumers (us) will keep buying.
The dumb assholes need food to survive.
And housing too, the losers!
Rice and beans is still ultra cheap. So, I agree a family needs more than that to "live well" they don't need more than that to "survive"
Edit why downvote?
1kg of rice was 0.90 euros 5 years ago, now it's 2.40 euros.
One of favourite cheap meals is my vegetarian chilli recipe but about 5 years ago all the ingredients cost me about 5 euros for a whole week of food, now it's about 15 euros. It's still affordable but the cost of everything is still skyrocketing.
Gotta get your rice in bulk. I recommend Asian or Indian markets, they often sell huge bags of delicious rice. I bet you can get back towards your old rate
Hah, this is Estonia, the most Asian market we have is one shelf of Asian food in the largest grocery stores.
Well, somebody is selling bulk
Oh, yea but those are the bulk store prices. Do people buy non-perishable good any other way?
How well rounded is that nutrionally? I already have a big bag of rice...
You will survive. Throw some milk and some greens in there and you are well on your way. If youre actually in this spot, I have more poor as fuck, but need calories for manual labor tips, but don't wanna preach
Lentils, chickpeas, quinoa. The latter is pricier, but has all the animo acids you need without meat in your diet, which is really, really pricey. Costco generally has 5lb bags in the $10 range if you have a membership.
That's called a "complete protein", and many combinations of food result in complete protein, including rice and beans. Lentils and chickpeas is probably complete without the need for quinoa.
I'm from the future and bananas are still $0.29¢/pound in 2024. I was surprised that fruits and vegetables still exist in supermarkets.
Alrighty, that said I'm adding bananas and strawberries to my cricket protein smoothies now
They're 90¢/lb where I am. Damn.
When we're at wits' end, remember that it costs nothing to sit and do nothing.
Except that it will cost your health & sanity.
Everything except Arizona Iced Tea, Costco Hotdogs, and weed.
Unless you live in a legal state.
That's fucked up dude. Even the most expensive legal weed is still around the same for a gram in my prinvince. It the lack of bulk discounts that is a problem.
But being federally legal the illegal markets are still great.
