Apple will make you pay for anything apparently

I'm super keen to try this. Can anyone chime in on mesh optimisation (etc) though? I have very little knowledge on modelling/texturing/UV mapping/etc, but I do know that a shitty mesh just means someone is going to have to model it again by hand.

Had someone contact me because a browser interface was 'down' and it was actually a cert issue. It surprised me that in an IT context, this person didn't have a basic understanding of SSL certs. They didn't even know how to add a cert exception.

It got me thinking, what basic ubiquitous things am I a dumbass about outside of IT?

Ive seen lots of 'fun facts' compilations, but it would be better to get a wide range of subject suggestions that I can spend 30 minutes each or less on, and become a more capable human.

Like what subjects would plumbers consider basic knowledge? Chemical interactions between cleaning products and PVC pipes?

What would an accountant or a landscaper consider to be so basic its shocking people can live their lives without knowing any of it?

For most areas of expertise, its difficult to know even what the basics are to start with.

There was a post about this a month ago. The tldr is that one of the maintainers is arrogant and controlling so a bunch of other people quit. It wasn't out of the blue either, it's been coming for a long time. There are alternative android store options, so its not too much of a big deal

If kids that young want anti-aging products, give them nappies.

Yes, but not quite like the movies.

There is a parasite (I forget the name) that, when it infects a person (or a warm-blooded animal) starts living off the host and storing energy in sacs around the infection point. It often presents itself as tumours, as the sacs can get quite large. Between the sacs there is a voltage difference, it's stored as chemical energy (like a battery with one side less electrons to allow for electron flow).

In severe cases, the parasite has had long enough to grow it's own nerve pathways through the body that can be used like wires. At that point, the tumours are really advanced and enlarged and will usually kill the victim, if not before.

In an effort to spread itself to the next host, the parasite uses the stored chemical energy to activate muscles in the dead host and move the body around to find another host to infect. That's where the whole 'eating flesh' thing in the movies come from, but it's actually the parasite trying to break the skin and be able to jump to a new victim.

In reality, this stage only lasts a few hours but as long as the muscles haven't deteriorated too much, it can be any 'few hours' movement within a couple days of death if the parasite is unable to immediately reinfect and instead waits for a period of time.

In three years, 90% of animated films are going to be generic crap churned out for a quick buck.

Often the rear brakes, and I've seen them on Mazda and Toyota. Its a real pain to screw them back in without the tool.

Just did mine this week. Really helps to have a 'Caliper Piston Cube Wind Tool' or something similar when you have to rewind the piston back in.

Rice is a cereal and therefore a valid breakfast food. Fry last night's rice with some chopped veg and garlic salt for a nutritious and easy breakfast.

But what if they hit the brown note?

Any explanation on how this happens?

Just as a matter of curiosity

I have a file with content like this:

item({
     ["attr"] = {
        ["size"] = "62091";
        ["filename"] = "qBuUP9-OTfuzibt6PQX4-g.jpg";
        ["stamp"] = "2023-12-05T19:31:37Z";
        ["xmlns"] = "urn:xmpp:http:upload:0";
        ["content-type"] = "image/jpeg";
     };
     ["key"] = "Wa4AJWFldqRZjBozponbSLRZ";
     ["with"] = "email@address";
     ["when"] = 1701804697;
     ["name"] = "request";
});

I need to know what format this is, and if there exists a tool in linux already to parse this or if I need to write one myself?

Thanks!

A recent article: https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/money/301022706/prepare-to-find-another-70-a-week-to-get-by-in-2024-asb

says: ..if households decided the worst was over and started to feel more confident about spending, it could push up inflation

But I thought it was the opposite;

More spending means more demand means more supply, which means production costs go down (due to economies of scale)… so inflation goes down?

But saving means less spending, means less demand, means less income for business, means costs go up.. so inflation would rise?

I realised this feeling is why I have such an issue avoiding caffeine, even more after starting on ritalin.

It's that, "I'm really starting to feel awake and capable now" feeling, sometimes a light tenseness in the back of the neck.

What is going on here, neuronically?

Also a time when I really crave nicotine. I'm trying to quit the nicotine so if I can understand this feeling, I can make a strategy to avoid it.

like, GiantHairyNipplemonsters.com..

Or maybe better, the domain for beer brewed especially for gamers.. Game Ale.

"... that was.. luthis at.. gaymail.. .com???"

"Exactly, luthis@gameale.com."

".. g a y..m a i l?"

"What?? No! GAME ALE dot com!"

Just the random shit that comes into my brain when I walk without other stimulus.. surely I'm not the only one.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, I'm using this image:

https://hub.docker.com/r/bitnami/wordpress-nginx

I updated the compose file to have un/pw for mariadb:

  mariadb:
    image: docker.io/bitnami/mariadb:11.1
    volumes:
      - '/etc/docker/mariadb-persist:/bitnami/mariadb'
    environment:
      - ALLOW_EMPTY_PASSWORD=no
      - MARIADB_USER=admin
      - MARIADB_PASSWORD=admin
      - MARIADB_DATABASE=bitnami_wordpress

But I get this error:

2023-12-03 19:03:02 3 [Warning] Access denied for user 'admin'@'172.18.0.3' (using password: NO)

using password: NO??
