So I believe in aliens only in a statistical sense. There is a lot of space out there so SOMETHING has to be elsewhere. But those same stats tell me that the odds of it being intelligent is low, intelligent enough to contact us very low, existing at the same time as us (since we are a blip in the history of the universe) astronomically low and having the ability, or desire, to travel to us hilariously, laughably, insanely low.

I don't think people who say aliens have been to earth are serious people. Sorry.

That being a "nice guy" isn't a selling point, it's the bare fucking minimum.

Look I wouldn't be excited for a Clash of Clans PC port, so why should I care about a knock off clone getting a port?

I wish we had linked to the essay in the first place, the independent tore it apart without adding any substance.

Then I saw my husband’s post. “God Bless America. God bless #45, 47.” I immediately texted, “I love you, but out of respect for me and all my liberal writer friends, can you please take down that post?

Still, I know he is a good man and he would do anything for a family member or friend, which makes what he has done even more infuriating and even more painful.

On Nov. 7, I saw my husband’s post was still up. It had more comments from Americans I believe had made a huge mistake two days earlier.

“I saw that you didn’t take your post down, and that breaks my heart.” Then I walked out the door — devastated but determined — into the blue of a new day.

Hon, you say he would do anything for family? But he couldn't even take down a post. It's time to start accepting that your mental image of him is not the same person who is in reality.

Salt.

  • Nearly every recipe uses it
  • infinite shelf life (durable)
  • cheap as heck.

Unfortunately it's not a conversation, they've already decided their right and no amount of illumination on their obvious blindspots is gonna change that.

There are a lot of ways to interpret this question, it really depends on the information and the people.

Hence why OP is asking for better ways to communicate.

:P

Books, not just reading but long form text. If someone doesn't want listen, then they won't even if they pretend otherwise.

So if a talented author puts out a message, the reader has to continually choosing to read, intake and process what is being communicated. It's easy to tune out of conversation, videos or lectures without realizing it. But if you make it to the end of the page and don't know what just happened, it's entirely at your discretion to go back and reprocess. Infinitely repeatable while requiring constant buy-in without the concept of just waiting out the duration while thinking of other things. To my mind, if you want to understand a complex idea than books are easily the best method.

Does a performative obviously bullshit apology after he specifically set out to rub baby oil all over "comfort women" statues. Just like he did in Japan where he apologized, promised to stop streaming, left the country, deleted the apology, immediately went back to being an ass.

Turbo fuck him.

I'm the friend. Curiosity is hot, in every sense of the word.
