This looked like a DND map on first scroll by and my first thought was this would be great for the Demon Wastes (still probably going to steal it tbh, works great for a Ghaash'kala, orc paladins, town).

Not sure which party, but I've been getting the same notice in the mail every ~3 days with this message and my voting record listed all the way back to 2016 for the past two weeks. Honestly not sure if it's an attempt to intimidate me to vote a certain way because it sure is going beyond "people will know if you voted" to kind of insinuating they'll know who I vote for. Fail point is I don't know acronyms for political groups so I'm not sure which one they're trying to get me to vote for lol

I have a shallow dish for my cat and he still does this... He just doesn't believe seeing the bottom is natural lol.

(Before anyone says anything yes the dish is flat, I bought it for my hedgehog to eat without having to clamber and then had to swap their dishes when he discovered the shallow dish was light enough for him to toss around for fun lol)

Yeah I definitely can get a feel for mechanics to an extent and I don't mind blind progs with PUGs (just not my static cause of the lack of communication). We do mainly extremes, savages and ultimates so there's some mechanics you only see in those and it's just a struggle to place a guide to playing when it's your first time and trying to figure out what our strategy is because nobody will tell me at the same time.

Think it's just a combo of core group has all discussed it beforehand and don't get they need to explain to the rest of us for whatever reason. Late callouts when we should already be positioning and I don't even know why we're positioning this way or what the strategy is so I can adjust if I can't meet the callout doesn't help. And idk they just might not be good at teaching. Not that I'm asking to be taught, I'll do the research, just tell me what the strategy is...

I think some of the raids we do are new to some of them and old to a few of them and mostly new to the rest of us not in the core group.

Yeah that's true, I do usually feel like I'm just a duty support NPC lol. Is a bit frustrating since if I knew our solutions I'd go down less and it'd be easier on the healers.

Thanks! I'll go subscribe for when I get there appreciate it! And yeah is what it is just needed to vent somewhere without crapping on them all cause they are really nice.

Just want to get this out somewhere. This is my first MMO with raiding and I'm in a mediumish static for it (not endgame prog). There's a core group and the rest of us hop in as we're able/interested. I figured at first I just sucked (which tbf I wasn't great at start, I've put a lot of effort into getting better at the game to not be a burden on the static), but I've had a lot more success raiding with PUGs. Issues:

  • Mechanics and our chosen solutions are rarely explained on call. I do try to read up ahead of time to understand the mechanics, but the group isn't usually using the same strategy (I start with the wiki and then search for other guides from there if I'm still not understanding something so I don't think I'm looking at weird, unconventional mechanics solutions). Different solutions from what I read is fine, they're just never said anywhere in group. Far as I can tell the "core" group has usually talked about them prior to raid and doesn't fill the rest of us in. We did a raid I really wanted to make sure I was following our group solutions for so asked for what guide we were using ahead of time, was given a video with the caveat "we changed some things". The video didn't really explain the mechanics well for me (was kind of just if you're X role go here at this time, then there at this time, not how the mechanics worked) and when we got in instance the changes (which had to do with my role in one part) weren't explained to me.
  • When I ask questions about mechanics/solutions usually I don't get an answer or it's very vague (just make sure you're at your position kind of stuff). I'm not asking about every single mechanic, if I ask about anything it's usually just one I'm not being able to match up with a guide (usually because we've changed something and it was never explained to me). Waymarkers also aren't usually explained to me even if I specifically ask what they're for (not asking basic waymarkers like clock positions, if the waymark pattern is a random looking Z though I kind of want to know which ones match which mechanics).
  • If I make any suggestions/requests (can we have a waymarker for X because several of us aren't meeting this positional, can we actually stack for the personal aoes like we keep saying instead of loosely congregating in the area of the waymarker and fucking over anyone not standing outermost) it's usually brushed off/ignored.

They're a nice group and definitely better players than me, just getting super frustrated at this point cause I've tried a ton of stuff on my end to deal with the lack of communication between over communicating on my end (kind of hard cause there's a lot of chat on call, but if I'm not getting something I try to insist we cut the chat so I can get the mechanic, just same issue with not getting a good answer), researching even if the core group says they want to do a "blind" prog cause I know nothing will be explained even if I ask, gitting gud at my job (know my rotation/uptime/if I know mechanics and our solutions I'm pretty good about being in position and resolving). In PUGs I have people ask and can ask myself "hey I'm not getting X mechanic, how's that work?" and it's not an issue... If none of us know we go look it up quick and then talk out how we want to handle it ("it's a tether with a line attack so anyone who gets it wants to be in general X area out of the way, just make sure you don't clip the tank and everyone else stay out of that area").

Overall not the end of the world, just the only group I've found that does not-endgame raiding on my dc (not at endgame yet) and I want to get better at raiding so a bit frustrating.

My experience here. Had one a place I worked which did breakfast foods (yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos , etc) with a small microwave slot to heat up after it vended. Food was absolutely gross and it was always dicey if anything it vended was still in date. Only nice thing was the front was see through so you could check which items had visible mold and avoid those...

Was cheaper than the cafe and had better hours (all of them) for my shift, but I don't think the trade off of rolling the dice on food poisoning was worth it lol.

Some of it was DDOS but a lot of it was just server overload which sucked horrifically. DDoS was its own thing because I did have trouble logging in during those times.

ETA: also not to sound like a churl the update about a month in did fix a lot of the lag. Until then it was just really bad and I was routinely running into people in df roulette also suffering from it which just made things even harder. But I will say SE did work on it and put a fix out that resolved most of it within a month. I feel like part of the challenge may have just been I was on the "overflow" datacenter for NA and SE underestimated how much "overflow" we would be seeing. Cause about the majority of people I was paired with in df roulette during this time were travelers which isn't the norm on Dynamis ime.

Can't say how it was for Endwalker, but I did experience a lot more server lag on Dynamis than I did before the launch. Getting in wasn't the problem so much as being in instances and just having minute long multiple lag spikes to the point I was often going from lag to lag. Had this even in duty support. My understanding is this was "better" because I could even log in at all, but it did absolutely suck trying to learn new mechanics where I was in MSQ and learn how to play around entire dungeons being slide shows of lag at the same time.

ETA: I got up to Amaurot about the day after pre-order drop happened and then worked up through Seat of Sacrifice over the heaviest weeks was absolutely miserable with the lag to figure out what was going on. I also do MiNE ex/savage and had a few I'd been progging I just had to bow out from because when we got to new phases I was having so much lag they weren't showing for me and the majority of the time I'd be either killed by something I never got an update to see or last person standing because I was lagging so much I didn't ping into the damage.

If they're trying to do an animated spin off of the live action Barbie movie they have grossly missed the point. People who saw the Barbie movie aren't going to watch an animated movie to see if Ken is finally "kenough". Honestly not sure why they wouldn't stick to the animated movie prescription of promoting their latest line either. It's a toy they can sell and frankly not all of those movies are even terrible. They're not going to win Oscars, but the animated Barbie movies wouldn't have to up their game much to be in the running for animation awards as they're generally pretty meta making them fun for all ages. They had an animated online series (dreamhouse) that was well-acclaimed before the live action movie and actually seemed to inform how some of the live action movie was done.

Really sounds like sitting on a gold mine and then trying to steal the workers' bathroom because suddenly it got the "right" interest via controversy.

Sometimes they just make up whole new stories (Bleach) or say fuck it and go their own way (Fullmetal Alchemist). I feel like the more accepted recent approach though is having a mini-series of an arc which has normal pacing (actually even often accelerated pacing cause they only get 12 episodes) and then just putting the show on hold.

And then you have when the anime affects the manga and the manga starts stretching the story out for "content" (feel like this happened with My Hero Academia and Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun). If it was a novel that's being published on a pay by chapter platform you're just completely fucked because they (generally) follow the Mark Twain model of pay per word so once a story gets popular that shit absolutely gets milked into the ground. If you're lucky they waited to do the anime until the comic adaption was half done at which point the novel will hopefully be done...

So from the article the Lae'zel ending only happenings if you

Super spoiler don't think there's a spoiler text accepted across all instances yet

Accept becoming a mind flayer and some events thereafter and then follow through with Vlaak'ith telling you to kill yourself. This "rare no one's taken" glitch ending seems to be if you listen to Vlaak'ith, but don't turn mind flayer you can still take the kill yourself ending if you check the mind flayer box ...despite not being mind flayer. Which could only happen through a glitch. So it's just a you could take this path if you'd checked X box but you didn't so can't "ending". I'm not sure what this article is trying to say honestly as it's literally just "if you make X choice you could get Y ending, but if you glitch the game to believe you made X choice you could get Y ending" article.
