Good. Plenty of companies just leach off FOSS projects and contribute nothing, if that's the case they can either pay or make their derivative works also open source. Seems fair to me

Playing the long con! Tell them about this extra account to throw them off his scent

I'm sure someone will repost old mates comics, bit strange to signup for newsletters just to get a comic that could easily be delivered on their website, the way every other artist does it.

Your membership to the service is now worse off comparatively, so the benefits you receive have shrunk. Shrinkflation feels pretty apt here

Good to have this content cross posted here so you can gauge people's opinions and feelings. It's a net positive if it's generating good dialogue (even if the OP won't ever see it)

Least it'll have 32x9 support for when I pick it up on sale down the track, that's nice.

These graphically intensive games need to launch with DLSS/FSR parity, adding it in later isn't great for the end user

The performance has been pretty shocking at launch even with the latest patch. What's even more shocking has been the super bad takes from the steam forum commentators such as:

  • skylines 1 also launched poorly, it's fine
  • at 100k sims in skylines 1 you only used to get 30 FPS max so why are you complaining
  • just drop your settings to low for everything it's fine (and also it looks like shit)
  • I've had no issues on MY computer, it's perfectly smooth (it's running at 15-25FPS)
  • get better hardware (it runs poorly at 100k with a 13900k + 4090, upgrade to what, a supercomputer?)

I get that people invested want to bootlick their favorite company, but pushing out games that are clearly not finished isn't great

I get there's a heap of people on here who've somehow never seen these new anti-popup measures before, but they're definitely becoming more prevalent.

I switched to uBlock and purged the caches and it seems to have fixed the issue (for now anyway)

At some point I'll have to find a more permanent solution like switching browsers but right now things are working

That's a great outfit mate
