I believe so.

[–] sblanziko@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Do you really eat Oreos on a daily basis? Damn man...

[–] BruceTwarzen@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I ate one in my whole life and it's one of the most disgusting "desserts" i ever ate. It's just sugar with cardboard around it.

[–] Bz2486@lemmy.world -5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Almost correct.the white stuff is a slurry of pig back fat and powdered sugar. Built the oreo line at nabisco in fairlawn, nj before they tore it down.

[–] Lux@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oreos are vegan, so it's definitely not pig fat

They've been vegetarian for 30 years

[–] Izzy@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I think I eat on average of about 5-10 oreos per year.

[–] Today@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I probably eat 30 Oreos per year in two 'sessions'.

[–] BEZORP@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

I'd guess like 0.2 a year for me, since it's been a few years, and I don't see myself ever eating another unless it's offered to me.

I do like cookies though

[–] light_martyr@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I will eat zero Oreos for years and years... Then promptly eat two full containers with a gallon of milk. All or nothing

[–] emmanuel_car@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

May I ask, how’s the diarrhoea?

[–] light_martyr@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

Let's just say the entire bathroom gets a thorough cleaning when the deed is done

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Most days that's a 0.

But then every once in a while, I eat an entire package.

[–] Bipta@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And that starts the cycle over again or not buying Oreos for another year.

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 year ago

It's like looking into two mirrors at once.

Maybe the price limit

[–] Mr_Blott@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oreos are like the lowest common denominator of biscuits. Overpriced and tasteless, you'd only eat them if there was literally nothing else; the Lipton's Tea of biscuits

My gods are Hobnobs and Caramel Wafers, yours are high fructose corn syrups

[–] NoIWontPickaName@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Don't forget the shortening

[–] godless@latte.isnot.coffee 1 points 1 year ago

Hey hey hey that's my job.

[–] brimnac@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

How many come in a box?

[–] jet@hackertalks.com 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

All. All of them.

The proper procedure for eating Oreos is as follows:

One: eat a single Oreo. Telling yourself you're going to be good.

Two: have one more because it's only one more

Three: realize you've eaten every single Oreo in the house. Feel guilty.

Four: go to the store and buy replacement Oreos so your family doesn't know about your shame

Five: go to sleep, and repeat as necessary the next day

(unless there are more available)

[–] Default_Defect@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

How many you got? I'll eat em.

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I try to put a limit of one column, but if my kids aren’t fast enough with their share, they may lose out

[–] CheesyGordita@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago
[–] TheHighRoad@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I think you mean "how many sleeves" as max.

[–] godless@latte.isnot.coffee 1 points 1 year ago

I usually stop at one, when I remember that I don't actually like them.

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

When we have them I tend to grab them in threes. But I don't have a daily limit.

[–] kobra@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

this is the way

I'll have some once every few weeks and usually eat like 2-4. The serving size is 3 which has 160 calories and 14 grams of sugar.

[–] Sylver@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Limits are for quitters.

[–] starlinguk@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

None. I think they're decidedly blah. It's sickly sweet stuffing in between two layers that vaguely taste of chocolate.

[–] conciselyverbose@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

IMO Trader Joe's version is about 100x better.

I still haven't had them in ages, but they don't just taste like sugar soaked in chemicals.
