It's pretty tame, and I wouldn't even have been sure that it was meant to be critical of Trump rather than a misguided attempt to support him if the article hadn't said so.

The video in the article, depicting a random white guys reaction to seeing the statue

"It made me scared to come to work, because what if I get shot or get noosed up just because of the way I look. And I don't know why the election at home should have to affect people so badly"

Bitch, your party's entire identity is based around attacking minority communities based on skin color, immigration status, and gender/sexual identity. Now that you're being recognized as the literal piece of shit you are, NOW you want to scale back the rhetoric? Go fuck yourself.

Also why does seeing your bitch emperor with no clothes make you scared of bodily harm? This dude sees himself in that depiction, identifies with the vile racist rapist on display and thinks "what if that happened to me?" And I gotta think, yeah, that's the point of the depiction. Your blind hateful positions only serve to expose you as the pathetic pasty parasite you are. Self-reflect and change or you'll continue to be seen as a hypocritical bigot who's self worth is based entirely upon the racist/misogynistic idea that because you're a cis white man you're better than everyone else. Fuck off you ignorant bitch.

The old innocent act and DARVO, the abuser’s play.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

The one group that might not have to be scared of that.

[–] ATDA@lemmy.world 17 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

They think he's Jesus, and Jesus barely wears anything what's the problem?

[–] CptEnder@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

Can we please skip to the crucifixion part?

The Nevada Republican Party “strongly” condemned the installation, saying that families driving through Vegas would be “forced to view this offensive marionette, designed intentionally for shock value rather than meaningful dialogue.”

Because conservatives are well known for meaningful dialogue and decorum.

Gotta protect those children in the city of sin.

[–] would_be_appreciated@lemmy.ml 58 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

offensive marionette, designed intentionally for shock value rather than meaningful dialogue

This is the most accurate description I've ever heard of the original.

[–] cybersandwich@lemmy.world 4 points 11 hours ago

Lol that what my first reaction too. They summed him up perfectly.

[–] nkat2112@sh.itjust.works 11 points 18 hours ago

Jabba the MAGA.

[–] Enkers@sh.itjust.works 139 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

That interview was something else. The guy said the statue made him scared of being being shot or "noosed up" because of how he looked (white).

Fox News truly has turned these people's brains to mush.

[–] shani66@ani.social 81 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

They are so desperate to be persecuted it's insane

[–] Archer@lemmy.world 36 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

They tell on themselves as well. Why a noose? Because that’s what he would use

[–] Enkers@sh.itjust.works 7 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

I mean, intentional or not, I think the statue does invoke imagery of a hanged man if you squint a bit. It certainly wouldn't have been my first thought, though, so you're probably right that projection also plays a part.

"I didn't know what it was at first," Jason said. "I don't know why the election should have to affect people at home so badly...seemed like nobody gave a dang."

Golly, shucks, nobody gave a dang-diddly.

I don't know why the election should have to affect trans people at home so badly… Gee wilickers.

Stfu, you racist fascist fuck.

[–] PM_Your_Nudes_Please@lemmy.world 15 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah, it’s a statement that is spoken from a position of extreme privilege. Being able to “not care” about politics means politics has never directly impacted your day to day life, your health, your wellbeing…

[–] Snowpix@lemmy.ca 10 points 8 hours ago

Or anyone else around you, including the people you care about. It's an extremely selfish way of thinking.

[–] Verdorrterpunkt@feddit.org 4 points 8 hours ago (1 children)
[–] shani66@ani.social 1 points 4 hours ago

This is the important bit. Everything they to hurts themselves to no end, but as long as it hurts someone not like them more they'll never even notice.

[–] JovialMicrobial@lemm.ee 36 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Does anyone remember that 'prolife'(antichoice) statue someone did of a nude Britney Spears giving birth on all fours? It happened around 2006-ish.

https://artdaily.cc/news/15725/Spears-Dumbfounded-with-Sculpture-of-Her-Giving-Birth

So it's okay to objectify a pop singer for right wing purposes(Britney's reaction to the piece was level headed btw) but a nude Donald Trump is too much?

I guess they only like art if it's propaganda they can jerk off to.

[–] Fuzzy_Red_Panda@lemm.ee 9 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I think at least a few of them are jerking off to this. 🤫

[–] Late2TheParty@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

I was having a lovely morning and then you put this in my head. 🤣😐🤢🤮

"NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small."

That is fucking suave.

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 18 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

"The emperor has no balls" ....nice

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

He does, though. They’re just small and hard to see.

(Mercifully.)

[–] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago

I refuse to click that link or believe in the existence of this. I don't care how ironic it is or is supposed to be, or how satirical. Naked Trump should never be a thing. Ever. The man should not be allowed to be naked in his own shower for fear a bird may fly by the window and be traumatized at the sight, which would be extreme cruelty to animals.

[–] RattlerSix@lemmy.world 24 points 19 hours ago

Now we know what it takes to stun someone who lives in Las Vegas

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 13 points 18 hours ago

Many brought binoculars to confirm its existence but went home empty handed. Trump's penis was too small for a balloon. Some said they noticed a 5mm sharpie mark that looked like it. Others said it looked just like Jesus. Yet others kicked him where a nutsack would have been.

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 10 points 18 hours ago

Ha ha ha. Very life like.
