Yeah, but they're all NSFW

[–] moosetwin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 51 points 2 months ago (2 children)

what are you doing marking a post as nsfw, with a sus title, on the cats community

[–] milkisklim@lemm.ee 30 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Playing games is not safe for work. Unless you work in the games industry

[–] Piemanding@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Not to mention THAT CAT IS NAKED!

[–] milkisklim@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

Well, drat. You got me there.

"why do you mark this nsfw"

literally a pussy photo

[–] kaitco@lemmy.world 42 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It’s called “Pet the Cat”. There’s just one objective.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

Yeah, but then you gotta buy food, and litter, and vet visits, and toys, and scratch pads.

I tell ya. I miss when games weren't full of hidden microtransactions...

trackball

(as long as you don't mind hard-boiling an egg or pitting an avocado every time the ball wears out)

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I've been using one trackball or another, usually a Kensington Orbit since they became available, for the majority of three decades; the only times I've had to buy a new one were when I needed more for extra computers or when new technology became available (such as when optical became a thing). I've never had a trackball ball wear out or even show signs of wear.

Actually, that's not 100% true. I did have one Orbit just stop consistently responding to input. The ball was fine, though; in fact, I'm pretty sure I still have the mouse and could just put the ball in a new unit.

[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Mine still works, it's an old trackball my grandfather bought for himslef in the late 1990's.

[–] dactylotheca@suppo.fi 2 points 2 months ago

I do believe the comment about the ball wearing out was what humans refer to as "humor"

[–] Chickerino@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

If the cat is on your wrist and not really on your fingers those will work, but if the cat's on your fingers then you're just as SOL. Even then you still need a bit of palm movement.

Original Dwarf Fortress

Bonus, it's free from the Bay12 website

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

Sadly, not the Steam version. I hope we get all the keyboard controls back eventually. I think the mouse controls are great for some tasks, but it's objectively worse for many others that still aren't available in the Steam version.

Baldur's Gate 3

[–] Abnorc@lemm.ee 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If you really want a suggestion, I’ve been addicted to Crypt of the Necrodancer. I just managed to beat all zones mode! Also, your cat is adorable.

[–] fishbone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago

Additional suggestion: Cadence of Hyrule.

Real cool zelda flavored spin on crypt of the necrodancer, and it's a good bit more forgiving challenge wise.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Ah, Keychron. I see you're a man of culture.

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Vampire Survivor

[–] toddestan@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

There's a number that can be played with just a mouse. Though looks like that's not an option.

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 months ago

this feels like the opposite of a problem

Most racing games

[–] natedog526@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

One Finger Death Punch

[–] porotoman99@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Any of the games in the Kingdom series.

Any old racing game would do. Emphasis on "old", as modern non-arcade racing games are weird to play on keyboard.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

i loved that game so much. it's incredible how it slowly trains you to do better by like .02 seconds at a time. shout-out to chipzel for music that still bangs around in my head from time to time.

Love the avatar. 😆

[–] A_Very_Big_Fan@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

World of Warcraft can be played exclusively with the keyboard and exclusively the mouse!

Controller compatible games are also good for solving this problem. From Software makes all kinds of bangers in that department.

[–] Tartufo@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Why do I have to immediately think of the "dancing mat Dark Souls" someone did? You for sure don't need your hands to play when you can just use your feet.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm sorry, did you just say notoriously difficult From Software games are good ones to play with only one hand? I mean, I know it's possible...

[–] A_Very_Big_Fan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Well no, but yeah it's definitely possible lol. Some disabled gamers like HalfCoordinated learned to play that way.

What I meant is you wouldn't have to move that hand like with a mouse, just your fingers.

[–] HeckGazer@programming.dev 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

The cat is not gonna nap for long.

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 3 points 2 months ago

Gothic 1 was designed without mouse controls in mind. A fact that made it clumsy to control even back when it was new. But for this it's great. You can play it comfortably with one hand on the keys.

I recommend getting a sliding keyboard tray under your desk and keeping a decoy keyboard up top.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 1 points 1 month ago

Usually good advice. But in this case, the kitty is clearly more interested in cuddling with their human!

[–] meekah@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Patricks Parabox, Baba is You, or any other sokoban puzzle game, really

[–] Okami_No_Rei@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Throw Void Stranger on that list. It's a fantastic Sokoban.

[–] meekah@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Never heard of it, but thanks for that suggestion! I'll definitely check it out

[–] Okami_No_Rei@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It just released late last year, and it is one of the finest puzzle games I've ever played. It took me around fifty hours to get the ending, and I've got a folder full of notes and screenshots from putting together puzzles.

Go in blind if you can, and do your best to avoid spoilers if you need to look up any puzzle solutions. This game has more depth than Outer Wilds.

[–] meekah@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I just watched the first video on steam and I'm sold lol, it's on my wishlist now.

[–] meep_launcher@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

I'll be real I expected an absolutely mangled hand

[–] viking@infosec.pub 1 points 2 months ago
[–] Coskii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 month ago

Right and Down.

It's a very easy game to play, tough to get good rolls in.

Also the name are the controls.

There's also the sequel, Right and Down and Dice. Just in case there wasn't enough random in your rogue lite.
