/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Every time I rewatch a Ro Laren episode, I get upset that we don't have more Ro Laren episodes.

She gained some rank and got command of her own Battlestar:

Now that's some Pride rep.

I'm gonna be real with you, chief, I HATED Admiral Cain.

As far as I'm concerned, the only good thing she did was deliver a spare Battlestar to Adama.

[–] hobowillie@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

You were supposed to hate Admiral Cain. She was a military dictator and, more important, a mirror to the path Adama considered in the mini-series.

The Pegasus arc was so fucking good.

And never will again bar a prequel. 😢

And there’s a substantial overlap with the “white lives matter too” lot!

This image could totally have some kind of ethereal Jesus-like figure floating above them with its arms out ready to embrace them, with a big BLM pasted on its forehead.

Juneteenth doesnt even mark the end of slavery in the US. Houston was not the last city to hear about the slavery ban. New Jersey had slaves six months after Juneteenth.

Its revisionism.

[–] dudinax@programming.dev 1 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

You're the first person I've heard claim there were no more slaves after Juneteenth.

The power of Juneteenth is that it's a grassroots celebration by former slaves started the year after they were freed.

Slavery didn't really end until 1963 -- or hasn't even ended yet, if you count prison slavery.

So what's your point?
