I think you’re probably right, but I also suspect that the upvote button avoids a lot of “this” and “you are so right” replies burying the substantive ones. It’s certainly kept me from making low value or redundant replies in the past.

It’s also interesting to occasionally scroll though my post history and see which comments struck a nerve with fellow lemmings. It’s a secondary simplified version of the social interactions and discussions here.

Like others have touched on, this place seems like a reasonable discussion with some real people. It’s not INTERNET BULLSHIT FIREHOSE.

Oh nice. Does your system FINALLY provide enough addreses for every Planck volume in the observable universe? It’s been frickin amateur hour, this internet thing.

That sounds like a great plan for all types of media. We would better document our history and make so much human creativity accessible to those who cannot afford to indulge in what’s currently for sale.

Why do we not do this? Oh wait, it’s MONEY? Pfft, it will never happen.

Nope, I’m not sure I even looked for one yet. I don’t need auto sync and/or backup for my work since that’s mostly in GitHub and JIRA and the like. But it’s still convenient to be able to throw a file in there at times.

It would make a pretty amazing video if he reacted to the brick like a cat reacting to a cucumber.

Insert “use Linux” joke. But I’m absolutely serious when I say that using my company’s M365 stuff using the web versions in Firefox on Linux is pretty pleasant.

Honestly I think you’re giving the sheep’s human counterparts too much credit. They don’t acknowledge that they are potential prey, even while actively being victimized.

Or “Once I am elected, meat is back on the menu boys!”

The half the sheep cheer and tell him to eat those other annoying sheep over there.

Dimmable RGB LED bulbs are for this. One command can turn on all the lights to 100% in soft white color. Another can set them all to 1% and orange color. The color change makes the room even darker than just setting the lights to 1% at normal color.

That’s the family-friendly version anyway. If I’m the only one up, I’m totally content with everything off.

Slightly less poor people don’t have to be very far up the scale to look down on the slightly more poor. It’s a major part of the conservative playbook after all.

I can’t get enough of these familiar spacefaring faces!

Making my first Lemmy post because this moment in my DS9 rewatch made me think of you all.

I think I’ll call her Captain Gilora Lochley.

Also, DS9 is even better than I remember. It’s been a while!
