But tens of thousands of Muslims is fine….

It's lowball for most governments. Should most of the world not condemn Israel's reaction because at one point they did something similar?

It’s traditional, like many things in Christianity. Remember the Crusades?

The Muslim imaginary sky dictator isn't part of the Christian imaginary sky dictator's plan to end the world (but like in a good way!) like the Jewish imaginary sky dictator's followers are.

If you think about it, the Christian special relationship comradery with Judaism is a super patronizing relationship in that sense. "yeah, we can be friends, just stand... right over... Here. Right here."

The Pope has been denouncing the conflict and asking for the killing to end from the beginning.

[–] Infiltrated_ad8271@kbin.social 2 points 9 months ago

But lukewarm, isn't it? The leap to calling it terrorism is great news.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@kbin.social 22 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Watch Zionist Christians defend Israel after this.

[–] FireTower@lemmy.world 25 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Not all Christians are Catholic. A fair number of denominations were created specifically because they didn't like what the Vatican was doing.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@kbin.social 7 points 9 months ago

Yeah good point actually. I should've said Catholics.

I have always considered Zionist Christians an oxymoron. Don't forget it were the original Usurers who plotted against Jesus

[–] grue@lemmy.world 19 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

Zionist Christians are not an oxymoron; they make perfect sense. The key is to understand that it isn't about altruism toward the Jews, whom they don't give a flying fuck about. It's about shipping all the Jews to Israel (and away from everywhere else, BTW) because Revelations says the Jews returning to Israel is a precondition for triggering Armageddon and the Christians think they're gonna get Raptured. Christian Zionism is 100% selfish and anti-Semitic.

[–] Rinox@feddit.it 4 points 9 months ago

This is completely retarded, therefore, probably, what the most fundamentalist Christians actually think. Although I'm pretty sure most Christians around the world don't actually give a fuck about Zionism

[–] suction@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

Yeah ok but when was that? 100 years ago?

[–] Isoprenoid@programming.dev 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Don’t forget it were the original Usurers who plotted against Jesus

Isn't it a major theme of the New Testament that we all would have killed or deserted Jesus? Isn't that the point of the story of Peter (Jesus' bestie) denying him three times?

[–] SkippingRelax@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

You are 100% right. There's plenty of food for thoughts and no truth in those words, we should all read them, reflect, bexome better people and move on the same way we do when we watch star trek episodes.

If everyone stopped taking 2000 yeaes old fairy tales so literally, we would all be much happier as a society.

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 21 points 9 months ago (3 children)

My immediate thought.

Is he going to declare a crusade to protect the Christian pilgrims in the holy land?

[–] qooqie@lemmy.world 19 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

That’s absolutely not what I had on my bingo card for 2024 but that’d definitely shake up the current crappy reality meta

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Is there any lore reason why the Pope can't cast fireballs?

[–] MonkderZweite@feddit.ch 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

This meta is heavily based on physics, so holy fireballs don't fit the meta.

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 2 points 9 months ago

You know you're talking to a mid player when they bring up physics in the context of Pope play (no offense).

Using Pope is all about 2 things: spirit buffs and gold exploits.

[–] MuuuaadDib@lemm.ee 1 points 9 months ago

We know bro we know, Israel is a Zionist terrorist state. People supporting them are terrorist sympathizers and advocates.

[–] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 0 points 9 months ago
