This has great Omega Mart vibes

[–] marine_mustang@sh.itjust.works 27 points 11 months ago (2 children)

They have tattoo chicken. This is turkey. Totally different. /s

On another note, I’ve been a couple of times and it’s great. I highly recommend it to anyone going to Vegas.

(Or Santa Fe, Denver or Dallas - all the Meow Wolf sites are amazing)

Where is this in Vegas? I've probably been about a dozen times and never heard of it.

Edit: Ah, Area15. I've seen it from the freeway a ton but have never explored it.

I would absolutely recommend it! Be sure to dedicate a decent amount of time to it and bring a friend who loves weird shit. The exhibit has an underlying mystery that is really fun to piece together, but it definitely takes a few hours.

[–] UsefulIdiot@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

I went and wandered it for probably 5 hours with someone. We managed to get everywhere but couldn’t read everything

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that‽

[–] 7u5k3n@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

Such a good time

Thats definitely intentional, considering the Dave Mart logo in the top right uses the same font style as Omega Mart.

Next best thing. Fresh cut apple slices and a nice sharp cheddar.

[–] hrimfaxi_work@midwest.social 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

You more of a tart apple or sweet apple person?

[–] Pons_Aelius@kbin.social 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Depends. In this case I would go with a tart apple, granny smith or similar.

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Agreed. Sweeter apple with something like havarti. Sweet and creamy.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

Sign me up.

[–] MummifiedClient5000@feddit.dk 20 points 11 months ago (1 children)

One kilo of assorted cheese apples, please.

[–] drathvedro@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

I'll take the mashed potato flavored candles, thanks. I know exactly who gift it to

[–] jimmycrackcrack@lemmy.world 15 points 11 months ago (3 children)

I don't get the denial one.

[–] whodatdair@lemm.ee 8 points 11 months ago

Me neither, and if we don’t admit it nobody will ever know.

It’s the perfect crime.

[–] pomodoro_longbreak@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

I'm assuming it's an inside jokes between op and their friend.

[–] gsfraley@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] jimmycrackcrack@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

That sounds like it's probably it. Don't have that brand here so I'd never have picked that.

[–] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Denial for $2?! Normally, you have to do some serious mental gymnastics to make that at home; it's a lot of work. What a bargain.

Also, I know some people who would absolutely buy potato-scented candles if they were a thing.

[–] hackris@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What sort of denial are we talking about here

[–] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Everything. You'll forget entire months of your life, but you also won't have a single tarnished memory.

[–] lingh0e@sh.itjust.works 12 points 11 months ago

That's a pretty spot-on job. I used to do ad layout for a local newspaper publisher and that's almost exactly what we'd do.

[–] egeres@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

This is one of this pics where the more you look, the weirder it gets haha

[–] someguy3@lemmy.ca 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Took me a second but it's plasma.

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 16 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Plasm is a noun that can mean plasma, germplasm, or a formative material.

Guess it’s both? (Merriam-Webster)

[–] someguy3@lemmy.ca 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (2 children)

I wonder if it's a regional thing.

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 8 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Definitely, often from Vermont or Canada ;)

[–] someguy3@lemmy.ca 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I'm from Canada and have never heard or seen plasm.

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] brsrklf@jlai.lu 2 points 11 months ago

Today I realize Canadian are tree vampires.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 0 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I think it’s a “being unnecessarily technical/obtuse as a joke” thing: plasma, as in “blood plasma” - thus, tree blood plasma ~= maple syrup

[–] someguy3@lemmy.ca 1 points 11 months ago

... yes plasma with an 'a'. Not plasm on the card.
