I really do wish reversing the polarity worked like that. lol

Yes, but it's complicated. The most recent incarnation is called the 15th Doctor, but there was also one between 8 and 9 called the War Doctor, so the current one is technically the 16th Doctor, and the one that will be called the 16th Doctor will be the same as the 10th.
