Well, my username was automatically generated. When I was playing on my Xbox 360, I created an Xbox Live account to play with my friends. I didn't know what name to make up to be recognized, so I used the name generator they had and adopted it. From then on, I started using IngrownMink4 username as a "universal" username in all my social networks.

When I created my instance (midwest.social) I accidentally ran the DB script without changing the name of the admin so it's lemmy and I'm not sure how to fix it. I guess I'll have to do a DB insert of some kind, but my display name is seahorse, which is a play on words of my name in real life. Hint: my nickname in life is CJ.

But with the lyrics sung on top of the music, I'd describe the song to be like "It's a party song. I kept on generating random usernames on Windscribe until I got one I liked. A lot of websites limit the length though, so Developer becomes Dev.

Usually you make a new account on social media and all the good names are taken. But here, there's only a few thousand users so most are up for grabs.
So I wanted to take advantage of that and choose a really short and simple name like "Jim" or "Bob" cause it becomes sort of prestigious to own that when more usernames are used up.
I remembered on YouTube some accounts were named "bleach" with a picture of bleach as the profile pic, so I tried that. But just by chance, that one was already in use here. Eventually I came up with a similar idea to be "gun" and I like it better cause its funny

I was looking for an (originally one off) username for online services that I don't particularly want to be outright connected to my real identity, and I don't like making usernames that actually mean things, so I found this adorable sounding little three letter one. It's unsearchable in the web due to being so short and common, but it's surprisingly often still free.

My username comes from people who, for what ever reason discourage my opinions...I would hear, "stopit, stopit"...keep repeating anytime I would voice a non-popular opinion or do something that shouldn't effect anyone other than myself...rather than hate it, I decided to reclaim it (like many of my peers do with removed), so I decided to use "stopit" for my username...surprisingly on other sites, it has been already taken :( so much for this old man being original...but I tried and I am "stopit" here. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
