Dang, that map is from a Ukrainian publication. Is that the best they can do to present this?

Edit: Sorry I thought you were being sarcastic

I am also talking about ukraine and expressing my gratitude to provide the original source.

Sorry, I assumed you were being sarcastic. I assumed you knew where it came from since you posted it.

I just know that the source who posted it seems to be reliable

Remember when all the western media and professional armchair generals were laughing their assess out for the supposedly abysmal gains of the Russian military in the opening months of the war?

[–] COMHASH@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Russian army should have stayed in Kiev.. They were and are treacherous through and through.

They were horrifically overextended and were beaten back, or they would have been cut off by redeploying Ukrainian units.

What do you mean “stay in Kiev”??? Do you think they just waltzed in on vacation?

[–] COMHASH@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

No they were not... I was reading the news.. Russian army stayed outside of kiev without storming it for 2 weeks and then the peace deal happened which under the orders of Washington and Boris Johnson was thrown away by Zelensky. The deal had a clause that Russia would withdraw from Kiev and summy area which they did and next you know Bucha massacre happened (because of Nazi unit of Ukraine ofc). Western propaganda machine set the stage for a prolong proxy war then only. Russian army had a better chance of threatening Kiev if they would have pushed right through.

The fact they didnt stay in Kiev does betray the actual rationale behind Russia's invasion of Ukraine though; they never wanted to or intend to kill Ukraines leadership, they want to intervene in the killings of people in SE-East native Russians following the 2014 conflict, this looks like holding as much of the land in the east as they can.

I know its a meme to say but the invasion in Kiev was likely a bluff to sow confusion.

Aren't those mostly empty villages, that have been evacuated prior to the offensive?

[–] COMHASH@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Mostly minefields maybe 😅

Still better than Douglas Haig, however tepid praise that is.

Yeah, but I'm sure their families can take comfort from the fact that they died for the (American) red, white, and blue.

blood for the blood god!

No wonder the USA is angered by the result, and all the billions spent for the counteroffensive

[–] lorty@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago

It did half of its purpose: clean NATO's old inventory so that countries will have to buy more from the USA. Getting Russia desestabilized/falling apart from a war they can't sustain was the other (which failed miserably).
