The congresswoman called the indictments against Trump "pure communism" and part of a "giant collaboration basically to affect the 2024 election"

Marjorie Taylor Greene is accusing Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis — without evidence — of the very crimes Willis has charged Donald Trump with committing.

Ah, i see she has invoked the famous "I know you are but what am i" talking point

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Only now do we understand the full gravity of the passing of Paul Reubens. For decades he was the sacred keeper of this powerful spell. With his exit from our plane of existence, the power has falling into the hands of the minions of the dark hesperidium wraith.

[–] Che_Donkey@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 year ago

We need another hero to reclaim the spell. A loner, Dottie...a Rebel...

[–] ATQ@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago

Little does MTGlue know that whatever she’s says about Fani bounces off…

I thought Marx's chapter about charging Donald Trump with his alleged crimes after his presidency was an odd departure from the rest of the book too, glad MTG is shining a light on these issues. Nice to see she's well-versed in the legal maxim of immo tibi as well.

[–] Granite@kbin.social 24 points 1 year ago

I’m adoring the “no you” in Latin.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 29 points 1 year ago

She thinks RICO is a person.

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago

I'm not a towel, you're a towel.

[–] hogunner@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago (1 children)

MTG is so far up Trump’s butt that I bet she digests his food before he does.

[–] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's unkind to tapeworms.

[–] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

They deserve each other

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 22 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (3 children)

How does that even make sense?

edit: to be clear, this is a rhetorical WTF? but by all means keep the replies coming. Vent, and feel better.

[–] Cabrio@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago (2 children)

When you have the mental acuity of a microwaved hot pocket anything can make sense.

[–] PostmodernPythia@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago

At least a hot pocket can effectively burn you.

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 5 points 1 year ago

microwaved by a space laser

yup, makes sense

[–] geekworking@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The long-standing legal principle of "I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever I say bounces off of me and sticks to you".

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 5 points 1 year ago

I’m still working out how they defended T***pers literally rubbing shit on the walls of Congress.

[–] there1snospoon@ttrpg.network 3 points 1 year ago

Doesn’t have to make sense. It riles her base which is all she cares about

[–] beirut_bootleg@programming.dev 20 points 1 year ago

Stop feeding Bigot Barbie with attention. Don't play into its outrage baiting. Internet trolls taught us this a long time ago.

[–] Got_Bent@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Can you nail a sitting member of Congress for slander?

[–] ForgetPrimacy@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago

Not if they're a conservative

[–] orbitz@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Don't they get immunity for things said on the floor? Otherwise I'm not sure but that's the only restriction I've heard on it, and even that may have limits. Couldn't read the article either so just reverted to reading the headline and commenting, as is tradition.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Only if it’s in pursuit of their duties.

Hard to see how incitement of an insurrection applies

For example, if you were having a discussion about socialism and providing health care and stuff… you’d be immune for saying that the republicans are in the pockets of big corpo, that would be protected.

If boebert walked in and just announced that Greene likes rainbow kitten stuffed animals…. Well first, greene’d have to prove it’s not true, and that it was intentionally a lie

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 year ago

She also declared trump to be rubber and the Georgia DA to be glue. Checkmate libs.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago (2 children)

So….

What do y’all think she thinks “RICO” means?

[–] Wodge@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

Republican In Crayon Only

[–] Ser_Salty@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago

She thinks he's one of them damn mexicans

[–] magic_lobster_party@kbin.social 16 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I’m always confused about why Magic the Gathering has to be involved with politics.

[–] mindbleach@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

They called the fucking Pinkertons.

[–] Fuck_u_spez_@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

That would actually make more sense than half the shit that comes out of this bitch's mouth.

[–] Cpo@lemm.ee 10 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I'd be surprised if her IQ is higher than my shoe size.

[–] Heikki@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

I'll bet she loses a few points every time she goes to the bathroom.

[–] IonAddis@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

My shoe size is 5, and I just cackled. I should use that line.

"What, double digits?" "Oh no. No no. My shoes are single digits."

[–] carl_dungeon@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, MTG is the product of incest and has had 71 abortions. She also beat a hobo to death with a bottle of boone’s farm.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

For a bottle of Boone's Farm.

[–] SSUPII@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Didn't espect this from a card game

Of all the GOP Nazis, this one is the dullest.

[–] spider@lemmy.nz 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Straight from the leader of the GOP's intellectual wing.

[–] Pregnenolone@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Fuckwit says fuckwit shit

[–] Otkaz@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I really think someone should explain to her what communism actually is. I don't have any hope it would make a difference though.

[–] theostermanweekend@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Sooooo.....actual delusional, crazy people in office is fine. Sure.

[–] mr_tyler_durden@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

“No RICO, no RICO, you’re the RICO”

  • MTG, probably

Maggie doesn't really understand what words mean. She's like a parrot that just repeats the words that seem to get some kind of response when she first hears them.

[–] Designate6361@lemmy.letthewookiee.win 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Someone tell her that Trump won't pick her ...

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

He might.

He picks VP based on best blowjob.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

So definitely RFK Jr. then.

[–] MisterD@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Explains why he was so keen to certify the election

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah. He was… surprising.
