Is Domino even using real cheese?
I tried their "pizza" once and it was barely stomachable
Maybe it's better in the USA than in Europe, but I can't imagine why this is a successful chain.
It's not even cheap...

IMO in the US it's the best of the national chains. But I know it's pretty different overseas.

It's okay to be wrong

Would you like some sauce with your sugar?

They used to be awful, and in 2009, they ran an ad campaign explaining as much and informing you that they've changed.

My understanding is that they are much better now, but I've not eaten there since then, so I'm not sure. Either way, maybe Domino's Europe is only loosely affiliated and still uses the old shit.

Dominos is disgusting. It's basically the McDonald's of pizza. Honestly, I avoid all pizza chains and get wood-fired pizza at a local wine bar. Ooh and I just bought a pizza stone, gonna learn to make them myself!

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 weeks ago

Careful. Next comes the pizza oven. After that, never enjoying pizza out again.

(as a friend would have me believe at least)

You don't even need a pizza stone, I use a granite tile I got at the home improvement store

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

in my experience just a regular metal oven pan is enough, like yeah it won't look exactly like a wood fired pizza but i for one don't generally fucking look at the bottom of the pizza as i am too busy eating it

[–] I_am_10_squirrels@beehaw.org 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

A pizza stone gives you a super crisp bottom crust while leaving the middle chewy

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

ah, i think our pizza is too thin for that. The bottom is like.. 5mm thick maybe? Not much there that can be chewy and that role is filled by the toppings anyways.

are you talking about like, deep dish pizza or whatever?

[–] I_am_10_squirrels@beehaw.org 2 points 2 weeks ago

Regular hand tossed or hand spread, not thin crust

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 weeks ago

i will never understand this pizza elitism, even a fucking frozen pan pizza (which is the sloppiest of slop) is not actually bad..

I had dominos in india and the US, and let me tell you, it's way better in the US.

Around me, Domino's is good enough emergency pizza, and cheap enough if you use one of their coupon deals and pick it up yourself.

On a scale of 0 being a cockroach pit and 10 being a mom and pop shop in Chicago, they're about a 5.5. It would be better if they cut down on the salt.

Reminder that Domino retracted from Italy
