More than half of registered voters say the threat of political violence will be greater if Donald Trump is elected this November, according to a new poll.

While 58 percent of registered voters think the threat of political violence will be greater under Trump if he is elected, 21 percent say it will fall, a poll from CBS News released Sunday reveals. Another 21 percent say there will be no change.

Just over 40 percent of registered voters say the threat of political violence will be greater if current Vice President Kamala Harris is elected, while 27 percent say it will decrease and 30 percent expect it to stay the same, according to the poll.

Roughly 83 percent of Harris voters believe the threat of political violence will be greater under the former president, while 63 percent of Trump voters say it will rise under the vice president if she wins.

The poll comes as GOP leaders blame Democratic rhetoric for the two assassination attempts against Trump this summer.

There will be political violence no matter what the election outcome. If he wins it will be post inauguration. If he loses it will be to try and take power.

There has already been too much political violence this election cycle with two assassination attempts.

Until Trump and his MAGA party are put in their place, either by rule of law or the impact of that violence, we will have violence.

Trump is just the fucking symptom. He's terrible but nothing compared to the foaming at the mouse acolytes he has.

We need to make it impossible for this to ever happen again. I just don't see this happening without another civil war.

Trump is also the Lightning rod: Lightning strikes might be less frequent or less focused if he weren’t there

Personally I believe it will be a typical curve:

  • greater violence after the election as the crazies don’t accept the results
  • opportunity to make an example of the crazies. Let use up that jail space formerly dedicated to profiting off minor drug users
  • a general calming as their crazy conspiracies don’t pan out,
  • as Trump realizes he’s too old for another go in four years and retires to Mar El Lago: he’ll still instigate, still dish the crazies but people will realize he’s no longer the lightning rod, the craziness will lose focus
  • Truth Social shits down as the remaining crazies are not a viable business plan
  • try as they might, other Republicans are no Trump. Trying to copy his brand of populous outrage won’t work for them

This is solid summary, Trump has a cult of personality which are rarely transferable once he goes the entire thing will implode. Plus given how Trump motivates otherwise apolitical folks who didnt care beforehand theres a solid chance some of them would just go back to not caring.

I know it's an autocorrect error, but "foaming at the mouse acolytes"actually works here. "The Mouse" aka Disney. Hah!

I just saw this article and I think it's wild.
