I feel like this is primarily wishful thinking by people who play exclusively on PC and want to have their cake and eat it, too. Namely, to play good Nintendo games at 4K 120FPS with mods.

If that's the case, the problem is mainly that they don't say what they really want, instead taking the denial route by trying to convince themselves and others that Nintendo is doomed for supposedly being out of touch with the consumer (who should all be like me).

I don't like Nintendo's model, particularly when it comes to artificial scarcity of their older titles, but I at least accept it works for them and own a Switch because there are compelling games for it.
