Remember that time when Peter Molyneux said he wasn't going to speak the press or about games anymore?

"I understand that people are sick of hearing my voice and hearing my promises. So I’m going to stop doing press and I’m going to stop talking about games completely."

I was following the dev on Twitter for a while, its been interesting to see some of the developments on this. Exciting to see the release date, and I'll definitely be making this a day one purchase.

Also I love the song in the trailer, it fits perfectly.

I’m looking forward to playing this, so will be staying staying away from anything early like this, and not even clicking through.

To go with the discussion prompt; I do think modern games can, but they need to stay as true as possible in a number of ways. Games like Silent Hill 2 won’t benefit from changing the combat to something more action oriented, and the story needs to be as close as possible. Sometimes things may differ and that’s understandable, but the question has to be asked, “Is this the game that would have been made back then if they had todays funding, technology, or knowledge?”

Me and my kid played it for a little while earlier and it’s so good in it’s simplicity. I can’t wait to go back and play more. But it also me instantly wonder why Sony haven’t got Asobi to do a new Ape Escape.

I don’t know what support for the DualSense is like on PC but the game seems to rely on gyro and haptic triggers for some features. I’ve only played the first few levels but I image the rest of them being this way too. For the controls alone I’d say it makes it less likely to be on PC (but they managed it with Returnal so who knows).

I can across this a while back that might scratch some of the SSX itch for me - its an indy game that takes heavy inspiration from SSX. There's a basic demo, it plays quite well on Steam Deck. Though I wasn't a fan of the controls, so hoping the dev changes them or allows them to be changed.

That's actually great to hear. I might have to check it in that case. Thanks.

Shapes of Play products seem quite cool but expensive for what they are. Other than collectors I'm not sure who would pay £35 for stress balls/shapes.

Even though this is a preview, I'm a little disappointed by this on a whole. 30 years is a massive milestone, and so far this is underwhelming for such a big anniversary.

There’s no doubt about this. My favourites in the franchise usually differ from other people and fans that I know. It really does make it a pleasure being a fan of Final Fantasy as it holds such a diverse fandom that conversations often hold interesting takes, views and more.

I still have my 1.0 disc, given how useful it is now, it horrifies my friends when they find out I’m using it as a coaster. I stopped playing before I could get the rewards too, so seeing people with the tattoos always makes me sigh.

I’d recognise Limsa Lominsa anywhere. I’ve been playing since 1.0, with some breaks here and there. FFXIV is one of my favourite games ever, for story and gameplay.

I hope you enjoy it and have a great experience. Feel free to join us at !finalfantasyxiv@lemmy.world as well.

No worries. Easy mistake to make.

Not my footage but thought SteamDeck owners might be interested in seeing this.

Unexpected but looks like some bad frame rate dips here and there with around 20fps in most scenes where there’s a few things going on.

I’ve started playing it lately and my goodness is it a fantastic game. It’s really scratch in that itch I’ve had since finishing Tunic. It has so many familiar elements, that anyone who has played Tunic will feel right at home.

100% worth it.

Rockstar Games, a division of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., plans to announce the next highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto game as early as this week, according to people familiar with its plans.

The company plans to then publish a trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI next month to celebrate Rockstar’s 25th anniversary, said the people, who asked to not be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly. A spokesperson for Rockstar didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment sent after business hours.
