Oh this image took forever to load. Meanwhile I was imagining everything in the same dish

Wow I would have thought if everyone had food and shelter then we would have more pornography, not less. And I'd also wager we would have better quality porn too. Along with better quality of a lot of other things really

Rotavirus immunity is partial. You only need to come in contact with a strain too different from whatever your vaccine or childhood exposure was and you'll catch it again.

I got the vaccine as a child, and yet I caught it in my early 30s for the first time after moving to another country. Have you seen The Exorcist? I didn't know projectile vomit was a thing for real until then. I also didn't know about projectile diarrhoea. I wish I was still ignorant of these things

Funny, if you ask me about tea in general, I think of it as essentially an asian thing with a couple "regular" or "plain" western varieties. I guess it's marketing doing justice to history for once?

Yes colored contacts have that effect always, but for a show you'd expect some effort into one of the main characters appearance

This effect is relatively a very simple one to edit in post and would look a lot better than contacts. This looks so cheap

I thought kangaroos and wallabies were similarly equipped if not even more bizarrely. But I've never seen it myself

Well this obviously depends on how well informed my impostor is. But I would say my choice of sushi or breakfast would be among things that could out the doppelganger. Also my choice of drinks, the drink would probably out the doppelganger faster than the food.

My suggestion would be find an end of life companion or death doula who is willing to have a chat with you, most will likely give you basic advice like this for free. It's important that you address this issue and tell your family though, and that you can communicate to them what your wishes are regarding treatment.

Good luck OP

I drive a small automatic car. For the most part, it struggles a bit with steep uphills, and picks up speed when going downhill. That's to be expected.

But then I noticed some downhills actually slow it down. I've noticed during a two-hour motorway trip I often do to visit family, there are some specific downhills, not all, just some, where my car always slows down and I have no idea why.

Ideas?

edit: feel free to reply no matter how old this thread gets!

I'm not particularly into anime, I like it just as much as live action shows or other types of animation. Having said that, I feel like watching some and I'm not sure what to pick.

Here's a list of other anime shows I've watched/manga and novels I've read, so you can better judge what to recommend. ( would greatly appreciate the story to be completed, I hate waiting years for closure) :

Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto : both great stories, I've read the mangas and loved them. They wouldn't be a priority to watch because I already read them.

Attack on Titan: started with the anime, it was great, switched to the manga, got extremely disappointed with the story development and its ending. It felt a bit like nonsense for me.

Dragon Ball/Z : probably my favourite, I've rewatched it recently. I don't like GT and Super.

Overlord: I've read good part of the novel and manga. I'm liking it so far

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: please No thanks. Not for me.

Death Note: loved the first arc, not a fan of the ending but no hate for it unlike with AOT.

I also recall Escaflowne and Inuyasha, they were alright but not something I've loved or hated. Cowboy Bebop also in this category, excellent visually and great OST but the story wasn't as gripping.

Other than that... Feel free to suggest any other titles! Extra thanks if you are specific about any versions and why is the show so great.

TIA

So I'm in my deathbed right now, fever and chills and pain everywhere but especially on my legs. Why? Whatever I caught seems to be attacking my throat. Is the leg pain directly caused by the virus, or is it a defense mechanism of my body? Thanks

What the title says. The higher the number of comments under a post, the more likely there will be an error. I see a post, it says "X number of comments", but when I go to the comments and count them, I notice is X -10 approx. Often more than that. Is there a reason for this comment count discrepancy?

EDIT: Turns out is the same using a browser, so apologies for presuming it was an app related issue. If the mods think this post needs to go- please go ahead and delete

" oh sweet summer child " you might be thinking, and yeah. I got no clue.

A thing I appreciate about Lemmy is the tech savy, privacy conscious crowd. Since joining I've seen these topics discussed a lot more often so here I am, wondering how much and when do apps collect information about their users. Most people usually don't mind or don't notice this, and those who do often come across as conspiracy theorists.

What I'm trying to figure is what exactly gets mined, how, and for how long. I heard some apps track your eye movements or record your camera at all times. I've heard that Google records your audio 24/7. I find it hard to believe this would happen all the time as it sounds like pretty expensive process in phone resources as well as space (information is unlikely to be stored on video format, right? Is it even human readable at all?) Obviously if I purchase something online or if I'm browsing for a specific topic on any app, that data is gathered and used- I've seen it myself, after browsing about X, or purchasing X, I'll see more ads and content similar to X ( if it makes it past my adblocker of course, but it's hard to block ads on some apps). Now, does Google truly know how many times a day I fart ? Does Instagram keep track record of people's faces and underwear color when they scroll in the toilet? Does it happen in the background at all times or only while I use those apps?

These are the stupid questions I need to know about. Sources appreciated. TIA.

Ages ago Elon Musk used to be positively regarded by most people. I missed everything that happened that changed the public opinion, I missed the changes he imposed on Twitter (though I gather it's the same as it happened with reddit, only earlier) and yeah. I'm out of the loop. If someone can briefly recap the main events I'd be grateful.

For me, things went like this: Pre-pandemic, everybody wants to own a tesla ev, Elon is smoking pot with Joe Rogan and the world is cheering. Then the pandemic hits. Then the pandemic lifts. Then in 2023 all of a sudden everyone online saying he's awful, a blood emerald hoarder, destroyer of twitter, tesla stinks, etc etc. Did it all happen overnight? Was there a main trigger event or was it a gradual thing? What, exactly happened to twitter after his takeover- is reddit truly a by-the-book carbon copy of his decisions with API changes?

I've been living under a rock.

Where someone completely out of the loop asks about some current affairs and people try to summarise what's going on.

For example, right now I'm seeing a few Hillary memes and have no idea if there is something going on about her. OutOfTheLoop would have been the place to ask

I know there is a blender community somewhere. But I'm looking for communities that also give advice and talk about other software- such as, but not limited to, Zbrush, Unreal Engine, Houdini, Autodesk whatever, 3DSMax, Nuke, Substance, etc etc etc.

I've seen people across the fediverse (especially beehaw) being supportive of Blender and Davinci Resolve but no instances or communities dedicated to the 3D industry and VFX at large.

I am not great at searching across multiple instances and sometimes communities don't exactly have obvious names that describe what they are for. Do we have a place people can point others to communities/instances? Thanks

Hi, first post here, hoping people can share how they are cleaning up comments and deleting their reddit accounts. I'm ~~ thick as a brick~~ pretty average when it comes to tech, so far I've shreddit github.com/andrewbanchich/shreddit/releases but after downloading the windows version and trying to run it... It got blocked by windows security the first time, I insisted in running it, but afterwards nothing happened. I've just installed malware, who knows.

So if you have some foolproof method to nuke all reddit history in your account, I'd love to know about it. Thanks!
