“BBC Panorama should have told us immediately and not made it public because now it’s really embarrassing for us and it’s going to cost us money, er I mean it will be detrimental to the children; yes that’s it, won’t somebody think of the children? Basically their fault and not ours.

Oh and this was all just a big test, which you failed. Again, definitely not our fault.”

Autoit was great. The documentation is good and it’s very accessible.

What a great idea. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us :-)

Somebody should send this to Elon Musk.

I went to one of these wanky places in London and had to use my phone light to illuminate the menu sufficiently so I could see it, thanks to those shit light bulbs they insist on hanging everywhere. There are dozens of them and yet they give off no light.. wtf is the point.

I had an identical experience with some other networks. It was some time ago, so difficult to recall fully, but I believe restarting my phone regularly was helpful. It may just have been that patience was required for the network side changes to be propagated, but the issue was resolved after one of those restarts.

Try tinyhome https://github.com/bderenzo/tinyhome

Throw a few bits of info into a csv, run a bash script and it produces a html file like this demo page https://lab.bdro.fr/tinyhome/

This video was helpful and simple. It’s no longer any hassle. I later implemented the same using my own domain and cloudflare.

London Underground themed. Where possible the station name somewhat reflects the purpose of the machine. Some names are shortened.

  • Bank: NAS server
  • Barbican: Jellyfin server
  • Paddington: Pi-hole
  • Piccadilly: Raspberry pi
  • Heathrow: Proxy manager

Wireless access points named as DLR stations.

Network hardware named as Underground lines.

Station names can be chosen based on their zone to indicate physical location. Zone 1 in the house etc.

I agree entirely. Their bribe, I mean offer does a good job of highlighting how useless they see the police otherwise.

A complete misunderstanding, for which they will provide no explanation

I'm unable to expand the reply at the bottom of this conversation and it's unclear why. Tapping it shows the spinner to indicate it's trying, but then nothing. This behaviour occurs on iOS and Firefox on desktop.

Any ideas?
