It's a place created as a home for jews pretty much by antisemites, with the main idea being "we're okay with jews but only if they're not in our country".
There's a lot of fascinating history about the creation of Israel by antisemites that you can find, but the gist is that zionism and antisemitism often go hand in hand, and it seems this has not really changed.
So, a couple weeks ago Biden was "feeling comfortable" with a ceasefire, but now it seems that he's comfortable with escalating it by sending american troops. Very cool!
We live in times where making up bullshit is consequence free, even if you get called out on it. People seem to value if you can speak well more than if you're speaking the truth.
But hey, it's free speech in the marketplace of ideas, so maybe it's actually a good thing.

I'm European, and my relatives often buy into and bring up the US crackhead conspiracy theories they saw on Facebook and from coworkers.
I was having an argument the other day concerning things like the weather machine conspiracy theory, chemtrails, and a bunch of shit about how the war in Ukraine is made up to steal money and how Zelenskiy was trying to abandon his country and flee because he's a coward or whatever. A lot of US and Russian brainrot makes its way here I suppose.

This is such a weird phenomena, but also a sad one. I'm assuming she does enjoy partying with drag queens but is so ashamed about it that she decides to compensate by rallying against them, sort of like how staunch anti-gay politicians are often caught in gay acts.
Or maybe it was just some drunken lapse of her """moral beliefs""", can't really tell.
I've read The Guardian article about the situation, and what stuck out to me was this:
The US president, Joe Biden, said he was aware of Israel’s plans to launch an operation into Lebanon as he urged against such a move. “I’m more aware than you might know and I’m comfortable with them stopping,” he told reporters at the White House. “We should have a ceasefire now.”
Thank you Biden, just wag your finger and keep feeling "comfortable with them stopping", that is ought to give you some moral victory points which is all that matters (and not thousands of civilians being killed by Israel that's funded by US).
Yeah, though there's also the phenomena of older folks generally being more against change and clinging in the past more, the idea being that you have less future to look forward to (since you're closer to death than your birth) so instead you look towards the past and become nostalgic about it.
Never really liked this argument, since it's not really a contemporary political movement where you just read the policy and go "yup that sounds good", it's more akin to a cult with a large indoctrination campaign.
You have alternative news floating around on the same platforms as real ones, you're told to not believe the "other side" as they're all in league with one another and always lie, you can have coworkers or your community reinforce these things making it very hard to escape especially if you've been a part of it for years. The current 'liberal politics' and the living situation doesn't help either too and does contribute to the general stress that makes people fall down these rabbitholes.
Granted, people who have a lot to benefit from MAGA and are acting as influencers for the movement should be rightfully hated, but not really regular people. I do believe that a lot of people who currently are going to (begrudgingly) vote for democrats could definitely be part of the MAGA cult given different environment (such as work, living area or community they're part of).
Point is, hate the movement, not the people. While it's very difficult, it's possible to deradicalize someone and vilification is not really going to help with that.
