2020 increase in all deaths 504'000, total number of COVID-19 deaths 345'000. Where do the other 150'000 extra deaths come from? Is that known? That is almost half as much as from COVID, seems alarming.

How did they count COVID deaths? Anyone having it while dieing? Did it have to be the actual cause too?

As we find from many studies, covid can increase your risk of cardiac arrest or other causes of death. Some may be that healthcare was less available and screening tests were avoided.

It took me a while to figure out the top graph is the year by year increase in absolute numbers.
