Which treasonous billionaire? There's dozens to choose from.
Will no one rid me of these meddlesome billionaires, comrade
Leaving the UN would mean giving up US veto power. This would be one of the stupidest decisions of all time. No wonder Elon wants to do it.
Name one time US veto power was used for good.
Maybe they used it to object to serving English food for lunch once. That's probably the only time it'd be justified
If the US leaves the United Nations, does that mean they lose their security council veto power even if they somehow rejoin later?
Seems like something the other former global superpower, Russia, would be very happy to see happen.
I fail to see how this advances America's interests whatsoever. Republicans are huffing glue again.
That's a similar case to UK leaving the EU. They had a lot of provisions just for them - tax exempts etc. If UK decides to rejoin they will have to renegotiate the terms and EU will not want to grant them the same relief as they had in the past.
If the US leaves the UN it permanently gives up its seat in the Security Council and its veto.
Russia magically inherited the USSR's security council seat even though they are not the USSR. When the US collapses, which part gets their old seat? (I vote we give it to Canada personally)
Russia was always Russia. It was the seat of the USSR so it just stayed with Russia. If the US withdraws it gives up its seat. Canada would happily accept a permanent seat on the Security Council with veto.
FUCK THIS GUY SO HARD. I swear to god this lunatic needs to be stopped.
This lunatic is a danger for the world. He is an unelected unaccountable person with the power of the presidency. It’s terrifying.
Preferably a bullet
This is not going to end well for Elon Musk.
I sincerely hope not.
Who gives a shit about him. This is not going to end well for everyone.
Nato is the only reason we European country bought those ultra expensive F35 paying billions to purchase and operate them.
Leaving NATO would cost the US over $100 billion in arms sales annually, so they won't do it. But to have and eat their cake they just don't need to honour article 5
Idk, Trump already tried it at the end of his last term. These people don't have the USA's best interests in mind.
To be perfectly honest they should probably kick the US out of it
Both NATO and the U.N. were founded by the U.S. and other victors of World War II to promote diplomacy and cooperation between nations as well as to prevent another global war.
claiming that the organization does not align with the Trump administration
Checks out.
It's kinda like Brexit
Basically destroy all things that made the US a world leader.
I publicly support ejecting this unelected scumbag from our country.
I publicly support ejecting that unelected scumbag from a passenger jet enroute to anywhere away from our country.
If the American people had any sense they would cut the heads off their new kings.
To once again prove how much of an utter dumbfuck both of these guys are.
The United States (along with UK) were the first two members of NATO. Making them the founders, so the United States is a founder. If Trump cared about there being an "America First", this should have been no concern of him because it was after-all part of an American idea.
The United States (along with other countries) was the original founding member that started the United Nations. If Trump cared about there again being an "America First" agenda, this also should never have been a concern since this was an American idea.
America apparently is not a priority when you consider these facts. It's more like "Trump First" than "America First".
America First was the slogan of the isolationist/anti-interventionist/pro-Hitler forces of the US in the 1930’s and the 1940’s. History never repeats itself, but it rhymes. I think many Americans are not aware that there is a substantial segment of the population that agrees with Hitler’s original thesis and just feel that he executed the war poorly. The Nazi rhetoric and holocaust denials are very deliberate and the destruction of the liberal world order that formed in the aftermath of World War II is the ultimate goal. I’ve strongly felt that the Ukraine war was the single most important issue in the 2024 election and the common goal of destroying the western led world order is what the project 2025 team, Trump, Putin, and Tucker Carlson all have in common.
The USA have never been so weak and so alone. Seems like a good time to exit NATO
... which has cut significant amounts of government spending...
Has it, though? I mean, even its own over-inflated "receipts" are barely a microscopic percentage of a drop of the overall budget.
It's terrifying to see these madmen ruining organizations created solely for peacekeeping and conflict aversion.
I hope this won't come to fruition. No, let me rectify... THIS CANNOT COME TO FRUITION. In contrast to what many Americans think, the distance between Russia and the U.S is 55 miles away. 55 miles between Alaska and Russia. Why would one think that Russia won't stop after they completed the checkmarks in knocks on wood Alexandr Dughin's "The Foundations of Geopolitics(1997)" thesis?
Considering they broke several ceasefires and agreements/treaties/memorandums, why would one think they wouldn't have pretenses of annexing Alaska back, hence reverting the purchase by force from the U.S? (View the Alaska Purchase 1867 sale)
Let that sink in and meditate upon the requirement of an organization meant to halt The Russian Federation expansion.
The US intentionally leaving the organizations they have domination over as a means to exert soft power globally would certainly be good for weakening the US Empire. This seems like a case where the architects of Empire failed to raise successors and as such the ones with the reigns are now "true believers" in the architects' web of lies.
