I guess Telltale wants to go bankrupt again making a return with an Epic exclusive.

[–] Faulty@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Depends on how much Epic pays them for it.

Then I guess epic is buying us all a copy again.

F

Any idea if there's a way of getting it running on a Steam Deck? I really don't want to fuck around with Epic

[–] HidingCat@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wait a year for it to come to Steam, which is what I'll be doing.

[–] comedy@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Yeah at least at that point all the episodes will be out and you can play them through

You can either use Steam via adding an exe as a non-steam game running proton or manage it seperately using something called Lutris. In my opinion its easier to use Lutris as you get more control over the options so look into it.

Anyone knows the performance of it? Can't find any info online.

There is the Heroic Launcher which is a launcher that works for epic games under Linux.

[–] bionicjoey@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But then I'd still have to have an epic account and buy it through their storefront right?

[–] RQG@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yeah there is no legal way around that when a game is epic exclusive.

You can browse the store through the launcher too but in the end you'll buy it through epic still.

Thought I read at one point that the authors of The Expanse had originally intended it to be a gaming universe? Then they made it into a book series instead. Then it became a TV show. And now…

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 5 points 1 year ago

It was going to be an MMO. But they are really expensive to make and have small profits margins, and I don't think it got that far off the ground. I've never even seen anything like concept art for it.

Then it got turned into a book series, then that got turned into the TV show, and the game is a game of the TV show. The story in the books is a bit different and no one knows what the story of the MMO was like.

is telltale back with the same scumbag executive suite? because if so telltale wouldve done better staying dead

[–] Anomander@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yup. It's still "LCG Entertainment" operating as Telltale Games, same folks who bought up the IP firesale when Telltale Incorporated went under.

disappointing, but thanks
