MODERATORS

I don't know if this is an appropriate question for this community, so mods, remove if needed.

The idea would be to fully insert the egg inside my bum to massage my prostate. Most of the eggs I'm considering have a cord at one end so you can slide it out when you're done. There are however things to consider:

Vibrating eggs are made of several parts, the cord usually attached to a piece of plastic attached to the main body of the toy, usually made of silicone. I fear the toy will break inside of me. OTOH I can relax my sphincter before taking the toy off.

Some other eggs can be used with 2 aaa batteries, main body also made of silicone. However, the models I found online don't seem to have a screw top. I don't see how the egg won't leave the cap inside of me.

The bigger and larger the better? Vibrating eggs I'm considering are on the 1" - 1.25" diameter range and 2.75" length range. Some other prostate massagers are much smaller, but I don't think they would make me feel anything.

There are also usb rechargeable eggs. Some of these have the charging port on the main body, meaning it goes inside of you when you use it. How can this be hygienic? I don't see how this can be easy to clean and last long (humidity and electricity don't combine well).

There are also cable connected eggs where you put the aaa batteries in the remote. After using it, I'd have to pull the cable when I'm done. Is this safe? I don't see how this item can last long if I have to pull the power cord each time I use it.

the more expensive the better? price ranges from $8 (power corded eggs where you provide the aaa batteries) to $45 (usb rechargeable egg with charging port at the end that won't go inside of you).

Ok, I'm going to step up to the plate here. I'm an experienced butt stuffer. There are two main safety concerns -- having your body move things further in than you can retrieve, and unsafe materials giving you ass cancer.

You've probably heard the adage, without a base, without a trace. In essence, your pelvic floor muscles will move objects around without you being aware or being able to stop it, and it can make things very difficult to retrieve. Your rectum is actually split into two by a muscle known as the inner band, which technically isn't a sphincter but is in practicality. When we squeeze stuff out, we're compressing the bottom half, squeezing the band and loosening the anus to push stuff out. If something untethered or without a base makes it's way into the upper half, you're not just going to be able to squeeze it out like when you shit, it's in the wrong place for that. You're in for an anxious fishing trip or wait, or a very embarrassing er trip. And this movement isn't something that happens by accident, your rectum actively moves stuff back up if it's not expelled.

Second, material safety. In the US, it's perfectly legal to sell toys that aren't body safe. I don't recommend plastic for anal use at all. Silicone is safe, but it has to be platinum cure or medical grade. These use platinum as part of the silicone curing process and is incredibly resistant to breaking down, which tin cure silicone will do. So, even a silicone egg with a tether might not be safe for butt use.

Ultimately, I honestly don't think vibrating butt toys are all that great. I highly recommend getting a "big" (large as you can fit) squishy plug like a square peg egg plug or a topped toys gape keeper and doing kegel exercises with it in. That's been far better for prostate stimulation in my experience.

Thank you for your service!

Having done this, I really wouldn’t recommend it. They are not designed to be pulled out by the cable, and if you aren’t putting effort into relaxing (which can be difficult if you’re stressed) it’s amazing how good your butt muscles can be at pulling back against any attempts to remove it.

Something with a flared base (prostate massager, vibrating buttplug, vibrating dildo) will be cheaper and a way better experience than having someone dig an egg out of your butt at the ER

As an XRay tech, I have taken an image of a butt-plug (with flared base) that got lost up there.
I don't know what was involved in getting out. But the docs did get it out before asking for another image 7 hours later.

Man, 7 hours at a hospital in the US must cost many people's life savings

[–] TIN@feddit.uk 26 points 3 days ago

100% agree with this comment. There's plenty of toys out there that will do whatever you're looking for without giving you the risk of a hospital visit and relatively major surgery

Great answer

The addage Without a base, without a trace is important to remember y'all!

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 62 points 3 days ago (3 children)

My gut feeling says that you should rather get a vibrating plug that is made to go in the ass.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, like the ones that are specifically designed to target the prostate.

[–] Sir_Kevin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 days ago

Pretty much every sex toy shop will have that.

[–] pixeltree@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 days ago

If you're looking for a good online place in the US, peepshowtoys.com has been the best place for conventional toys for me. They only carry actually body safe stuff

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Any website or shop that sells more than one type of butt plug will have at least one that is designed for prostate massage. Just have to check the description.

[–] lurch@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

and make sure to use some sort of private browsing, or you'll get sex toy ads and suggestions for months

yeah, like the recommendations on the shopping sites i visit. they usually have some products on their front page and they may change depending on your tracking data.

also, search engines may show different sponsored results based on your tracking data.

that's why it's so creepy. you don't know when this stuff will come up.

[–] GenitalHurricane@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Fuck it I don't have any shame about it. Check out the Lovense Edge 2 for a nice one that hits the right spot and has app control

[–] limitedduck@awful.systems 10 points 3 days ago

If the feeling is in your gut and not your ass it may be too deep.

[–] shyguyblue@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Agreed.

The soft silicon eggs just aren't meant to do what needs to be done to the prostate, in order for you to get where you're going, as it were...

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 19 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

They're not meant to be inserted fully into anything. The cable for the remote isn't designed to be used as a way to pull them out and can very easy break. They're meant to just be used for clitoral stimulation.

Get an actual toy meant for insertion.

Did you just watch the Jim Jeffries bit?

[–] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

He should have gone to the Anne Frank museum

[–] DragonsInARoom@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Interesting question

Larger seems ill advised. Frankly anything that wasn't meant to be used in that way seems ill advised since the cord may not have the proper strain relief and be intended to be used to remove the toy from an orifice.

But going larger definitely feels like it creates more risk of putting too much strain on that cord, breaking the connection at one end, and leaving the toy stuck

Thats my two cents, but I've not used that particular type of toy so hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in.

[–] Schlemmy@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 days ago

Don't know myself but would you please let us know afterwards? For scientifical reasons of course.

[–] Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 days ago

I'd recommend finding a rechargeable that uses a magnetic charger. The body of the egg will have two small magnetic dots where the magnetic charger attaches, allowing the egg to be waterproof and hygienic. You'll want one with a cord, and something at the end of the cord to prevent it from going inside of you. You should put the egg in a condom with the end staying outside of your bum which helps alleviate concerns of the cord breaking.

"Vibrating Ben wa balls" is a good search term for what you're looking for, but again, ensure the design will prevent it from being pulled entirely inside.

This option appears safe although it's not exactly what you're looking for: https://www.edenfantasys.com/male-sex-toys/penis-extenders-and-sleeves/menworks-system
