Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Summary

Donald Trump, once critical of Project 2025—a conservative policy agenda led by the Heritage Foundation—has softened his stance, calling parts of it “very conservative and very good.”

Despite distancing himself from the 900-page plan during his campaign, Trump has nominated key contributors to his second administration, including Russ Vought and Brendan Carr.

Critics claim this signals alignment with the project’s goals, which include expanding executive power and limiting civil service protections.

Trump denies full involvement, while Democrats and watchdog groups argue the initiative reflects his broader conservative agenda.

He was never critical of it. I can't stand the media lying all the time.

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 58 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yeah I remember before he was saying the total equivalent of "Project2025 is just a coffee boy, nothing to do with me."

Now, which anyone absolutely could have predicted: "Oh, but how convenient it is to have a database of stooges who were vetted to suck up to me! Might as well use it!"

Media sane-washed the fuck out of Project2025 which everyone with two braincells unwashed by propaganda to put together, knew this was the plan all along.

[–] SupraMario@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

We have a concept of a plan.... anyone not thinking he was talking about project 2025 was a fucking idiot.

[–] franklin@lemmy.world 95 points 1 week ago

to the surprise of no one who was actually listening

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 92 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Known liar lied about thing. Tune in at 11 for more of the same."

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

"I'm lying right now. I won't be here at 11. I'll be coked out with a hooker and the night shift has this."

We're all completely shocked

That man's obituary will be a best seller. Everyone wants a copy.

[–] QuincyPeck@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I’d wipe him from my memory if I could.

The greatest theft is that we all collectively are being forced to burn significant amounts of our lives thinking about this man-child's thoughts and actions. We both spend the time poorly and lose the ability to do something productive instead.

Hundreds of millions of human-hours, every single day, wasted. It's not crazy to infer this one person is disabling a significant part of human progress.

I'd make a pilgrimage to piss on his grave, but it will probably be in Florida, and nothing could get me to set foot in that state!

[–] 1985MustangCobra@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

You mean like the grave of his wife on his golf course that is oddly out of place?

[–] droporain@lemmynsfw.com 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Man I wish this said prisoner of year.

[–] Geobloke@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago

I assume prisoner of the year could be rehabilitated

[–] Clinicallydepressedpoochie@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Trump voters never actually cared. If you were fooled it was willingly.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

I'm sure the Dems who sat it out thought it out carefully. /s

[–] EmpireInDecay@lemmy.ml 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Versions of P2025 have been around for decades while Democrats did nothing to try and counter the proposals, and in many cases fully supported HF written legislation.

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 16 points 1 week ago

HF associated businesses in my area started selling Ukrainian soil after the election. it makes me sick

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (3 children)

It's all the Democrats fault that Republicans are doing this. Fuck off

For fuck's sake, doesn't it ever get tiring trying to blame absolutely everything on the Democrats?

[–] Kvoth@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

If course it's not their fault Republicans are doing this. It's their fault they are doing a shit job of fighting back

Wait shouldn't it all be 1s in this case? Like no way this is a surprise.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

He never changed his tune. He's always been fully behind this.

[–] ramsorge@discuss.online 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He’s (soon to be, again) the CEO of The United States… just saying.

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Deposition has been tried, but so far has been unsuccessful.

[–] ramsorge@discuss.online 5 points 1 week ago

Just need someone with better equipment.

[–] Deello@lemm.ee 4 points 1 week ago

But he has been very successful on the other D's at least

I read Agenda 47 (his official platform) and tbh it didnt sound too different from Project 2025. This should come as a shock to absolutely nobody with at least half a braincell. Lets hope that this horror show ends in four years because if it doesn't then we can prepare for hell.

[–] VonCesaw@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Back when P2025 hit popularity, I saw like 50 videos of "he doesnt agree with it, he's doing Agenda 47" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agenda_47

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

LOL, "changes tune".

You mean, he LIED about it?
