I have a modified build of this engine on an older version running on my hacked Nintendo Switch, and it is amazing.
That's awesome. Your comment just sent me back to the good old days of PSP hacking, and to a lesser extent PS Vita hacking. The homebrew on PSP was really special particularly because of the sheer numbers of PSPs sold. I'd love to see an OpenMW Vita version someday :)
I once spent a few days trying to figure out how to run a modded instance before giving up on it all...
I should try again, especially since I've now found the OpenMW compatible mod list...

Wow, cool: I wonder how this runs on Steam Deck. Probably pretty well.
When I last tried it, it runs really well. But I prefer the mouse/keyboard interface to the gamepad one.
Great news, and a big thanks to the hard working developers! I want to try out the Lua scripting at some point.
Besides the original Morrowind, I've also read that both of the major mods, Morrowind Rebirth and Arktwend (which has a special OpenMW port available on NexusMods), can be played using OpenMW.
ackchyually, OpenMW 0.48 isn't officially released yet, even though git and the different repositories have all updated.
The official release announcement will probably come within a couple of hours.

No Release Announcement video?
They haven't announced it yet on their webpage. With previous releases, they included the release announcement video in that, so maybe it isn't ready yet.
But, who knows. It's just as well possible that no one from the team has the time/motivation to record a video this time around...
I think there will be a video IIRC, but not as nice as they used to be.
Anyway, the release will be official in a few hours. It was just that some people noted that the release package had been built and published and that the repositories were updated...
