The billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of X has ramped up his support of his conservative super PAC and Trump.

Billionaire Elon Musk promoted debunked conspiracy theories about election fraud Thursday at the first of a series of planned campaign events across Pennsylvania meant to rally support for former President Donald Trump’s campaign.

At a town hall hosted at a high school outside Philadelphia, Musk referred to the false conspiracy theory that Dominion Voting Systems was part of a plot to rig U.S. elections in recent years.

The company has broadly rejected any claims that it has participated in efforts to manipulate elections. Last year, it struck a $787.5 million settlement with Fox News in its defamation lawsuit against the media outlet over such claims.

Buy Dominion stock! I see a future multi-million dollar influx of income in the not too distant future from a yet-to-be-filed slander/libel verdict.

It looks like it's owned by private equity. It also looks like the private equity firm got review bombed by Maga since almost all the google reviews came around the same time, and a couple mention lawsuits if anything at all. I don't think they care though. Their both rich. Let them fight

The fine is less than a billion so he can do it over 300 times. It's a law he clearly doesn't care about.

What's the phrase? "If a crime's only punishment is a fine, then that crime is legal for a fee".

[–] SeaJ@lemm.ee 7 points 4 weeks ago

That was for Fox News which is part of an entity that is worth $21 billion. The punitive damages would be much higher for someone worth $264 billion.

Sue the mother fucker

If Kamala wins I'd buy something like an expensive steak and candy and ice-cream and I'll just zone out for the rest of the week.

It's so exhausting, and I'm just a European...

If Kamala wins, Trump will never concede.

[–] Gingerlegs@lemmy.world 14 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

That sounds exhausting for him. He can barely deal with meetings right now, can you imagine!

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

Yes, but he knows it's the only way to stay out of prison.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 6 points 4 weeks ago

I think he’s thrown in the towel. Look how exhausted and disinterested he looks.

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 6 points 4 weeks ago

Dude has like 5 minutes left

[–] DokPsy@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

He still hasn't conceded from the last one he lost

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago) (1 children)

On his way to prison.

That's when we Europeans make popcorn (it's your first round of this stuff, I'm quite sure you'll be fine, historically speaking).

But if he wins, well that would be a first for you too, but instead if popcorn we'll build nuke safe bunkers I guess.

So yeah, please go out and vote 🙂

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Way ahead of you. I already voted. 😀

Wait for her to actually be sworn in on January 20th.

The terrorists may try things.....

We're just going to normalize how a billionaire can just dump millions of dollars to political campaigns and tell people who to vote for?

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.world 23 points 4 weeks ago

That's been normalized for ages. It's just that before Musk, the billionaires didn't advertise their ineptitude like this.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 17 points 4 weeks ago

This guy loves getting sued.

[–] Sarmyth@lemmy.world 11 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh nice! He's gonna get sued.

[–] Magister@lemmy.world 3 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

He doesn't care, even if he loses, 1 billion fine is a peanut for him

[–] Sarmyth@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

His wealth is largely tied up in assets. A billion would hurt a great deal

[–] Gingerlegs@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

Someone bout to get sued lol
