/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

Imagine treating the second most important person in the quadrant like that

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Right? Who does Mike think he is calling Picard out of the blue without even a text message first?

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

In Tapestries Q establishes that Picard doesn't contribute anything of value to history, so arguably Picard is one of the least important people in the quadrant

Counterpoint: he told Wesley to shut it.

Didn't everyone?

If not they fucking should have.

Is this some long-winded headcanon for why he has to interact with Picard in “Emissary”? I didn’t feel like they had any relationship to warrant that.

I had a job like that early-ish in my career.

I taught myself so much random tech stuff while I was being ignored for 8 hours each day.

I still love that boss. They were great.

...

I'm just realizing that's probably how Miles emerges as a miracle worker in DS9.

"It's not like it's a difficult job and you aren't even an officer."

Emotional damage

Seems a bit like emailing the CEO about your vacation time in a medium sized company. Pretty sure he would have fallen under Riker's umbrella, and might have had LaForge, Data, or maybe Wesley between him and Riker.
