  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

The lawmaker said the investigation seeks to remove him from office and smear his name. “Asking about my sexual history as a single man with adult women is a bridge too far,” he said.

I’m pretty sure they are asking about your sexual history with underage women, buddy.

Yes, I too feel the need to qualify my sexual history by leaning on the term "adult." It's a perfectly normal thing to do.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 4 points 1 month ago

Okay that is in fact normal to an extent. Adult → legal → none of your fucking business is probably the intended connotation.

[–] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hey! That was 10 years ago, most of them are adults now! -Gaetz probably

[–] cubism_pitta@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

I think you mean they are asking about his sexual history with kids

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

It's safe to assume that the "uncomfortable" part is that he's either going to have to admit to soliciting sex with minors or perjure himself, and neither one is going to end well for him.

He could get locked up and nailed under the floorboards tomorrow and it would still be beyond unacceptable how long a child fucker was allowed to be a part of the federal legislative body. I hope he gets everything he earned, any way it comes to him.

Love it or hate it, innocent until proven guilty.

[–] collapse_already@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I think the comment above yours was more targeted towards the dumb shits that keep electing him. Why vote for someone that has credible accusations of that nature?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Because he has an R next to his name.

[–] Spitzspot@startrek.website 38 points 1 month ago

Gaetz ethics........ an oxymoron for the ages

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 13 points 1 month ago

"We performed an ethics probe and found none."

"You mean you found nothing?"

"No, we found a lot. Ethics is the one thing this sentient shitpile has none of. There is no bottom to this monster's moral pit."

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Republicans don't have to respond to those anymore.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Opting instead to cooperate enthusiastically with Putin’s anal probe.
