The amount of communist and nazi shit Iโ€™m getting is unsettling.

If I recall, it's on the roadmap for lemmy development.

I'm glad exploding-heads is defederated, but my blocklist is quickly filling up with lemmygrad and I'd love to stop playing whack-a-mole on All

Connect for lemmy has this on Android. Since others are saying it's on the road map for lemmy, I guess its built into the Connect app and doesn't apply when you login via pc/browser but it should help if you're on mobile, works for me.

This app has so many features it's the best one by far IMO. Loving it, and the developer shoots updates out so fast. The instance blocking is a big bonus.

I can't wait for this feature to come to Lemmy. It will save me time. However, I'm grateful for the ability to block communities. It really helps me customize my "All" filter so I don't have to see stuff I'm not interested in.

Me too. I really just want to block all of lemmynsfw on this account instead of playing whack-a-mole with individual communities as they come up on all (Iโ€™ll make an account over there if I want porn), but Iโ€™ll still block individual communities to curate the type of stuff I see. I do enjoy that ability.

Connect for Lemmy has this feature on Android, but I doubt it carries over to other apps or in browser usage, since lemmy itself doesn't support it yet.

I'd like to be able to do that as well.

Which instances are filled with that filth? I've not seen any of the such...

[โ€“] acunasdaddy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Lemmygrad and exposing-heads specifically are the worst

Blocking all the lemmyml communities is a chore

I'm sorry those Nazis are bothering you, Comrade

[โ€“] FunnyUsername@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Where are you seeing it? I browse all instances often and haven't seen any

[โ€“] dedale@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Get used to it, it'll do you good.
But yeah on kbin you can block instances.

Maybe it was just buggy a couple weeks ago when I tried it, but I tried blocking feddit.de and it didn't work. I would still see magazines from that instance, I had to block them individually to make them go away.

[โ€“] dedale@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Ah weird, it seems to work for me.

edit: I checked, it doesn't work.

[โ€“] akai@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

I had a bunch of instances blocked a while ago (ex: yiffit.net) and it worked for a while. But then they started showing up again. Same for magazines and communities. I'm not sure what's going on...
