/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

“I find your lack of faith illogical.”

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

'You turned her (the logic) against me!!'

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

(has the high ground: "don't do it!")

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

"But my feet are getting cold! Can't you at least help me with that before you go?"

[–] Australis13@fedia.io 12 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Can't see Kirk ever giving in to the dark side, but Sisko or Janeway...

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sisko was firmly a Gray Jedi. Always on the side of the Light, but sometimes one has to get their hands dirty to move things along.

The Sisko was Mace Windu before Mace Windu was Mace Windu.

I've had it with this monkey-fighting war for this Monday-to-Friday quadrant!

Janeway: "I will never allow -"
Sith: "We have coffee."
Janeway: "I'm going to personally tuvix the shit out of any je-die I find, the women and the children too."

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 11 points 1 month ago

(Garack voice: especially the women and children...)

[–] blackbelt352@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Aeronmelon is right about Sisko, and Janeway was forced into a desperate survival situation while still doing her best to maintain the ideals of the Federation.

Kirk and Riker wouldn't comprehend (nor bother to) the force, they would just gravitate towards where the hot women at.

"Set course to the nearest sith bikini planet, we need to perform ... erm, like emergency plasma polarity switch manifolds maintenance or something.
Pink alert!
And no protective measures, I don't wanna come across hostile."

Something that I feel should get more attention: bowl-cut half bangs get super itchy. I am suspicious of any culture that settles on them as a stylistic default.

Live long and prosper with the dork side,
or die & become a shitty monochrome ghost.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

So, the options are between a shitty monochrome ghoul or a shitty monochrome ghost?

A cookie someone already took a bite of. No thanks.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

That one is his cookie, that he's showing you as an example.

I would imagine you get another one... but then, he's a Sith lord, so I'm not sure I'd trust on that.

No, no - that is for ~~badly written~~ not written characters that switch sides like Italy during WWII.

The S(h)ith had longevity, life through force (my headcanon to make for a better world building is also that Sidious was actively keeping Anal Kin alive through force, thats why the roasted wiener guy deaded immediately after the static-electricity challenged teacher "did").

But it's not all fun & cookies - sith also had to suffer the insufferable Darth Cleanex

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He may not, but Janeway could teach ~~Tuvix~~ Darth Spock a few things about the dark side...

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (2 children)

There are those that consider Janeway’s Captaincy to be… unnatural.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Tuvix The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Janeway would tell you. The dark side of transporter accidents are a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing himself, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught Janeway everything he knew, then she killed him in a transporter cycle. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Seduced to the dank side by a plant.

Its as good (or better) reason as any I guess.

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh sure, blame it on the coffee - that's what she wants you to believe! 🤣

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Lul

(But there was a flower (orchid?) in the transporter, so the monster is actually three things together - yet somehow less than the sum of the three.)

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Not anymore... that those still alive would admit to publicly:-).

The doctor said he had something to add, but now all he ever says is: "please state the nature of the medical emergency?"

[–] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I asked AI to give me a star trek/wars mashup of Kirk

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Not bad, but too much shirt still intact.

Come to the dark side, Kirk. We've got brownies.
