On Thursday, Donald Trump walked into a room of journalists gathered at his Mar-a-Lago estate for a news conference. He didn’t look particularly happy.

His remarks came after a week in which Kamala Harris and her new running mate Tim Walz have dominated media attention, raked in millions of dollars and enjoyed a bump in polling. Trump’s media event seemed more an attempt to win back the spotlight than announce anything new.

Heads up...the convicted felon is going to up the crazy to get back in the spotlight.

[–] WHYAREWEALLCAPS@fedia.io 30 points 2 months ago

I mean not only does he have to compete with Harris and Walz, he has to compete against his own running mate. The press doesn't care about a Harris/Trump debate because they know how it is going to go and it will be as dry as the Sahara, but a Walz/Vance debate? With Walz's comedic timing vs Vance's complete lack of awareness? That's gonna bring in the ratings. At this point Trump is a distant 4th for ratings for them.

BOHICA.

Cuz “Bend Over, it’s getting weird again” is just an unpronounceable mess. BOIGWA. Boi-ghwah?bo-ig-wa?

Sounds like one of the weird camp songs my SiL sings whenever we’re out hiking.

[–] Badabinski@kbin.earth 3 points 2 months ago

I'd never heard BOHICA before, so thanks for using it!

For others not in the know, it stands for Bend Over, Here It Comes Again. It's military slang, like FUBAR or SNAFU.

Man, I can't wait until we can just ignore this old weirdo. But that's after the election...

[–] Got_Bent@lemmy.world 27 points 2 months ago

Of all possible outcomes including but not limited to losing the election and going to prison, people ignoring him will be Trump's biggest nightmare.

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 23 points 2 months ago

Could part of it possibly be that the world is just tired of his bullshit

Self proclaimed billionaire can't afford a podium that doesn't wobble during deranged rant

Jail That's where Traitor belongs

Shot towards the nearest intermediate mass black hole’s gravity well would be my choice. Make him ET’s problem.

[–] WhimsicalSofa@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I feel we could get a much better bang/buck ratio by shooting him down to Venus along with a sensor package. Far less expensive, and the live broadcast of his horrific demise would probably go some way to defraying costs as well.

[–] SolarMonkey@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 months ago

Tons of people would pay-per-view that, if only for morbid curiosity. You could sell limited numbers of commemorative recordings in big collector packs and everything. They will be worth trumps fortune in a few years only (since that doesn’t really exist).

Sure sure it’s immoral and unethical to sell commemoratives of someone’s death to pay for the costs to bring about said death.. but like… meh. He’s done way more harm than this would.

Throw musk and zuck in there with him, just for good measure, and our healing can begin.

Should have held it at four seasons landscaping

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I hope a repeat of that mistake results in Vance giving a speech in front of a furniture outlet.

Out the front of SofaKing?

[–] ahal@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

Ah yes, you must mean the Regent.

It's every attention hungry narcissists worst nightmare: somebody else is getting attention!

[–] Wiz@midwest.social 4 points 2 months ago

"Call an emergency news conference so I can spout nonsense for an hour as a free commercial on every network."

They feel for it, and even generally skipped coverage of his opponent. Mission accomplished!

Some old weird boring guy

[–] InternetUser2012@lemmy.today 8 points 2 months ago

Dementia Don the weird racist rapist with 34 felonies is pathetic. His campaign is just cringe and weird. I'd say he should drop out because it's so embarrassing but I like watching this dumpster fire. He has to win or it's jail for his ass.

[–] littletranspunk@lemmus.org 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

At this point he's failing to fight out of a wet paper bag in the rain.

He has the power to do so, but, being Trump, he inserts his head so far into his ass he could get his head back on his shoulders from the inside out.

When I say he has the power, it would require introspection; what he could do, but refuses even when he knows, experiences, and sees the deck stacked against him for all the right reasons.

They didn't show Kamala Harris rally and made sure to play dump. What do they mean steal the spotlight? It's all his. This is 2016
