I've tried the web app, wefwef, Thunder, Lemming, Connect, Summit, Lemmur, Liftoff and Jerboa. Jerboa was the best so far but I'm using the 0.0.33 IzzyOnDroid version because of the issues with lemmy.world.

It's gorgeous and the devs are madmen updating it multiple times per day. Jerboa is great too, but will work better once lemmy.world is able to upgrade the servers.

Using Connect right now. Will probably switch to Sync when it releases, since I really liked their Reddit app

[–] WigglingWalrus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Same boat as you. Although depending how good Connect is/how many updates it gets, I may end up getting used to it and staying.

wefwef, it's very similar to Apollo.

Memmy. Seems like the best iOS option. Glad to have it! Long live Apollo.

Memmy in iPad works great for me (and has an insane speed when it comes development/new features)

[–] CuriousLibrarian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I can’t find Memmy on the Apple App Store. Is there another way to get it?

[–] Mori@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Currently it is only available on TestFlight (but was submitted for review a few days ago so I guess it will be on app store soon)

I like Liftoff the best so far, but I'm very curious to see what Sync will be like.

For me, it's the swipe navigation that means I can browse one handed. Do wish there was an ultra compact mode though, little too much dead space on the posts screen for me. I like it DENSE.

Liftoff is feeling very Sync-inspired. I started with Jerboa and it was okay but after it stopped working with v0.17 I found this and it's been great. Bare bones but pretty and functional.

Defi itely need an option to change the font of post body text though.

Jerboa but the "swipe right exits thread" is killing my enjoyment. Unless I can disable it I'll go back to my instance's pretty solid webapp.

Wefwef. It's shockingly good.

[–] ilovecarrotjuice@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Currently on iOS using wefwef.app very close to apollo and you can install it as a web app

[–] p0ppe@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Memmy is working great for me, and seems to be developed at a breakneck speed.

[–] assembly@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Been using Memmy for about a week now and it’s been great. Probably sticking with it long term.

[–] FlaxPicker@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Seconding this, it feels the most similar to Apollo for ios to me right now as well. Definitely filling the void.

I'm currently using Connect (though I prefer Jerboa they haven't updated to the new version of Lemmy).

When Boost for Lemmy comes out I'll probably switch to that.

So far this seems super promising as a Reddit replacement, honestly I'm excited by the potential here.
