Methuselah (grandfather of Noah) lived to 969 and didn't believe in Jesus. WHERE IS YOUR JESUS NOW?

[–] state_electrician@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Wasn't that a translation error and he lived to be 969 months old? That would be just under 81 years.

Many biblical figures from that era were said to have lived hundreds of years

[–] Tyfud@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Yeah, they can say whatever they want, but there's no evidence of that. Most likely it was a translation error, as the previous poster suggests.

What was the life expectancy in Darwin's time? Like 40-something?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 9 points 7 months ago

/unshit There was life expectancy at birth and life expectancy. Child mortality was so huge it threw off mortality statistics until after the industrial revolution

Norris is fitter than Darwin so this checks out.

Chuck Norris is 8-fucking-4?

I really considered him to be like in the high 60's or smth.

But then again, I still feel like I'm in my twenties.

I object to the last 15 years having existed at all. Didn't happen.

It isn't the size it is how you use it.

Yeah well Chuck Norris didn't invent the rolling office chair.

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Chuck didn’t have to. When he squats, the Earth rotates under him.

[–] groucho@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

It kind of does that for everybody?

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Chuck Norris smiled at me once, now I’m pregnant.

Jesus walks on water but Chuck Norris swims through land
