Is my birthday today so I’m gonna have a gram of mushrooms and watch a silly dumb comedy movie with my wife.

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That sounds awesome. I'm not in to mushrooms, but that sounds relaxing.

HBD, my dude

[–] PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

Thank you! Shrooms are definitely an acquired taste haha. Have an awesome day

Saturday I'll be running session 3 of a D&D campaign with some friends, Sunday my parents come over for some father's day grilling, and Monday I have off work so I'll probably just chill and play TotK for 10 hours.

My summer might be peaking here lol.

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 year ago

Not going to lie, that's a tall order to beat.

It's my step-dad's birthday/father's day this weekend, and we're going to do something for that. My MIL and FIL are likely coming over as well at some point to see my kids. Low key is the order of the weekend.

[–] UxorialCow@lemmy.fmhy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Aw man im jealous! My friends schedules fell out of whack so we had to stop our dnd games:(

[–] faustianflakes@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, it's hard. This is session 3 but session 1 was in March. We can't really figure out a regular schedule so just decide when we can play next as we go along.

Planning to go out to the local state park and look for good boulders to climb. My goal for this summer is to transition from indoor to outdoor bouldering.

[–] neamhsplach@beehaw.org 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm manifesting tickets to a local festival right now which means I'm basically waiting for them to fall out of the sky and hit me in the face. I miss having money for these things! It's meant to be rainy anyway so maybe I won't miss much!

Apart from that I'm meeting a friend for some food and then visiting some family. I'm starting a new job next week so I might do some prep for that. Or I might not, I might just wing it on the day haha!

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What line of work/industry is your new job in (if I'm allowed to ask)? Best of luck with the new gig, you'll kill it.

[–] neamhsplach@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Teaching! I've been in the wrong industry for years but I think this is where my skills really lie. I've terrible attention to detail and can't plan to save my life so office work has been a terrible drag. Teaching is something that really comes naturally to me, I love being at the top of a classroom. I know you're meant to plan loads for it but I've found even my best plans often get derailed and I'm good at improvising so I'm not going to get too hung up on the planning part!

Thanks for the well wishes, it means a lot :)

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 year ago

That's awesome. The world needs more enthusiastic teachers.

Wishing you nothing but the complete realization of your goal and the personal fulfillment that goes with it.

At this point, I'm not really sure! I was supposed to spend this weekend with family for fathers' day, but my dad's sick with a cold. Prob spending it with my fiancee's family for her sister's birthday

[–] UxorialCow@lemmy.fmhy.ml 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

My friends have been getting into Worms WMD! Im awful at it and its very unintuitive, but its still fun to just get drunk together and fuck up the plans of my friends who know how to play it, lol

My daughter has a new best friend and I haven't met her mum yet, so the girls have organised a get together for us at a local cafe so we can meet and get to know each other. It's kind of a blind playdate for the mums, lol. The cafe they've chosen is between where we both live and the food and coffee are excellent there. Apart from that I'll be making my weekly assault on Mount Washmore in the laundry, and continuing with my only occasionally successful attempts to declutter the house.

My new kitchen table and chairs will arrive next Tuesday, so we'll spend the weekend moving out the old kitchen table and washing the floor. Fun fun.

I'm going to my sister's baby shower tomorrow, and then on Father's Day we're having a cookout! I'm honestly more excited for the cookout because there will be smoked brisket :)

[–] QuentinCallaghan@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

Trying to fix several things with Sopuli, hitting the gym and hanging out with my friends.

[–] Nougat@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Replacing the fuel filter in my Triumph Rocket 3, in the hopes of making it run properly again. I may need to clean the idle air control valve, too. If I can't figure it out, off to the dealer it goes.

[–] Ethereal87@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

We've got a kid so things revolve around them, but hoping to have a chill Father's Day and trying to rope a friend of mine into seeing the new Transformers movie!

[–] Aviandelight@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

I will be having my roof replaced. It's going to be a long noisy weekend.

[–] Bojimbo@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

It's Juneteenth weekend in Atlanta so it's food trucks, music, and booze until Tuesday

[–] CMLVI@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

I'll be going to a motocross race in Mt Morris, PA. It's my home track, and one I've raced dozens of times as an amateur. I've gone almost yearly since I was a child. It's raced yearly in the AMA Pro MX series for almost 50 years.

I'm going to a game store on Saturday to have a mini painting party with some friends in a local TTRPG group. I have a huuuuge backlog of mini's that need to get painted... It's real bad lol

But doing it with friends will help motivate me, which was the whole reason we organized it because they suffer from the same problem haha

That's more of a wargame than a true TTRPG but there are Warhammer TTRPGs! Like Deathwatch, Rogue Legacy, and Imperium Maledictum.

This Discord group I ran across is specifically non-DnD TTRPG's only, which has been great honestly. We're getting together to paint mini's because we're looking to start a Mordheim campaign. I'm going to go with Skaven for my war band, looking forward to when we start that up 😄

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That sounds cool.

40K has always interested me, but I never got around to playing. I understand the distinction you're getting at with it vs. TTRPGs, however.

I'm pretty happy I started this thread; I'm getting a really cool look at a whole bunch of other things I didn't know existed, but people pursue for hobbies.

[–] Dee_Imaginarium@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

I've never played 40k either but I love the lore! I just don't have the space available (or the money) to have a big army for a game like that. Mordheim is a good tradeoff though, it's similar in gameplay but you fight with small squads of like ten figures. There's also RPG elements with objectives you have to try and complete. The hard part is finding others to play with though, but if you're interested to try and get people in your area into that check out Broheim which is a community that's kept Mordheim alive since GW stopped supporting it!

That being said I highly recommend the Warhammer TTRPG's I mentioned too, they're a lot of fun. Each one gives a different flavor of the 40k universe. Deathwatch you play as a Space Marine which is as power fantasy as you'd imagine. While Rogue Legacy and Imperium Maledictum you're normal Imperium citizens, and your character is exactly as squishy as you'd imagine lol

I'm glad you started it too! A lot of cool things in this thread 😄

Going to have lunch with a friend on Sunday, so he can draw me a custom token for my commander deck! Then gonna cook house dinner for my co-op that evening, since it's so dang hot I'm thinking something cooling like a quinoa salad

[–] keeb420@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Mow my grass. Maybe work on my truck. Play some games. It's been a stressful week. Between my mom and I being sick with whatever was going around eventually leading me to take her to the emergancy room Wednesday. Now she can't keep anything down but otherwise she is better, at least looks and sounds better. Then there's just been lots of small things adding to my stress level.

[–] autumn@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

might go see a silly yacht club band tonight. attending a birthday party tomorrow. riding ~40 miles out on sunday morning, then taking the train back home that evening.

[–] 2deck@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Moved into a new place, need to get some stuff for my home. Like towels, lamps, mat, utensil tray, bin, plastic containers... I'm headed to a factory outlet and I'll try not to get carried away.

Might get a sound system if I'm not careful

Playing Delta Green with some mates on Sunday 👽

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I did a 10,000 mph review of delta green. What do you play it on? a computer?

I’m going to a Guinea pig show this weekend! I’m considering entering my boy piggies for the “Best Boar Pair” award.

[–] BiggestBulb@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Probably going to hunker down and code, if not visit the big city near us.

[–] nxtequal@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago

Going to stay with a friend in a few hours. We're planning on smoking, watching cartoons, maybe some light gaming, then finishing it off with watching the new Transformers movie on Sunday!
