I've noticed several community announcement threads being created in !music@beehaw.org and thought that it might be best to centralize the advertisements in a single thread to help with discoverability and longevity. I'll attempt to keep this post up-to-date as folks add comments for new communities.

Also, this isn't a replacement for https://browse.feddit.de/.

The directlink sends you directly to the owning instance's content (useful if your instance hasn't indexed the community yet, as the second link might come back with a 404 until it has been indexed). The second link is "universal" and will keep you local to your own instance (useful when trying to subscribe).

So, without further ado, here's the list:

Theres https://lemmy.ml/c/indieheads, https://sopuli.xyz/c/hiphopheads, https://poptalk.scrubbles.tech/c/popheads that are missing from here, decided to link from my community to this post instead of having a long list and these were missing

Thanks! I added them in.

This is great. I am however struggling to navigate to these on my own instance. Is there any way on the fediverse to have links that always open on whichever instance you are on so you can sub from there?

Are you using an app like Jerboa by chance?

I found that, on mobile, links want to open in that weird/annoying pseudo-browser (same behaviour as links from other apps like Instagram or Gmail). Logging into my instance of Lemmy in Chrome, and then opening those links in the pseudo-browser, tap the 3 dots top right > "open in Chrome" allowed me to subscribe more easily.

I just shifted the links over to a different format, this should now allow you to stay within your instance so subscriptions are easier :)

Hey, I created !deathmetal@lemmy.ml and !deathcore@lemmy.ml . I'm also trying to get ownership of !metalcore@lemmy.ml as it has been abandoned, so adding it to the list would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I didn't know there's a post character limit in Lemmy (sucks!) I'll be coming up with an alternate solution soon for these.

No worries! Would be cool if we could pin comments in Lemmy, but I'm sure these kind of features will come in due time
